No, that's not my mantra. The country is in better shape due to Trump winning. The international scene certainly has a tremendously better outlook than under obama, Bush 43, or Clinton - and infinitely better than Hilary would have produced. The domestic scene is still uncertain, that is a much harder problem to handle, but it is in better shape than "Hilary the sell-out to Russia" would have produced.

And under obama where was all your "The President is supposed to govern for everyone, not pander to a base increasingly out of step with the rest of the country"? It was all "we won", "elections have consequences", and denigrating everyone who opposed the obama disaster.

The only thing that argument supports is the fact that rural polities have greater physical areas than do urban ones. The few parts of a nation don't elect anyone, the people living there do that. The EC was a compromise with Southern planters to prevent demagogues from coming to power. Whatever of the plethora of lying slanders about her you may believe about Hillary I have yet to hear her called a demagogue, while I have heard Trump called little else, so the EC doesn't function very well.
