Didn't she get the nomination to run with "super delegates", ruining Bernie's run against her?

Only she got nominated by a corrupt system.

Yeah, but she still got more votes than trumpee did. ;)

And relax!!! The only reason trumpee won was that a lot of left moderates and dems stayed home, and rural righties snuck out of the woodwork. That won't happen again.

You all have guaranteed record voting turnouts for lefties, for a decade.

Unless you can find a legal way to shut down the first amendment, you're not going to be able to "shut down" people as you think.

I know Trump raged against the Electoral College in 2012, but the popular vote doesn't matter.. We are a Republic... and I don't want to change that just because we elected a jackass like Trump.

Hillary was just the wrong candidate..

    We'll survive this Trump nightmare.

Have you looked at the credentials of Evan McMullen?

It is really just the winner-take-all system, not the EC or the fact that we are a republic.

I would defend the system except that it was supposed to prevent someone like trump from ever getting elected. The safety valve failed. Responsible electors would have refused to elect trump.

This is a disaster for our election process. There is nothing to prevent mob rule.

I never did like H. But it was her or trump.

Well, a lot of people beyond me, like former NSA and CIA Brennan, and Hayden, aren't so sure. Hayden now defines the American people as the greatest threat to national defense. Trump and his cult are systematically undermining the foundations of liberty and the Constitution.

Yes. I like much of what I've seen but don't have a definite opinion. The fact that he's a mormon worries me. I was a mormon for a short time. But I haven't heard him invoke religion like Sessions just did to justify harming children. So I guess I'll take a mormon over a Methodist!

    Heh, isn't Hillary a Methodist?

What’s a Super Delegate, and Why Did Clinton Win Them?
    by Carrie Dann

Supporters of Bernie Sanders have much to be elated about after the Vermont senator thundered to a 22-point victory over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire Tuesday night.
But they may be bewildered when they look at the scoreboard.
After the New Hampshire contest, NBC News allocated 15 delegates to Sanders. But NBC also allocated 14 delegates to Hillary Clinton, who lost the primary by an almost historic margin.

Why are those two numbers so close even though Sanders walloped her in the

She got about 3 million more votes than trump.

And trump won because of just over 100,000 votes in three States - Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, which have a combined population of about 29 million people. Hillary pulled many of her 3 million votes from California, which has a population of about 39 million.

That's how you shut down trumpers who deny the popular vote of the people. Yes, he won the EC, but only by the skin of his pointy little teeth. And responsible electors NEVER would have allowed a man who not only incites violence but offers to pay the legal bills; a man who called for the mass murder of innocent people, a man who called for extreme torture, attacks judges, the intelligence community, the free press, war heroes, women, and now children as a matter of policy, a man who seeks to divide a nation, a man who praises despots and dictators.

The EC was specifically intended to protect us from people like trump. And it failed. They had the option to refuse to put him in office. And they failed. Now you seen what amounts to mob rule.

And trump just keeps pumping and pumping and pumping - throwing gasoline on an already raging fire. I wouldn't be surprised to find that trump himself is a Russian operative. He couldn't do a better job of destroying the country.

Some people speculate his campaign could have won the popular vote if it was not focusing its resources so much on trying to win specific key states to have the best chance of getting a victory in the electoral college. But there's not much point in trying to court voters in solid blue states when he's not going to be able to win any electors there anyway.

Another thing to consider is that the Trump campaign spent less than the prior Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's campaign spent, and Romney lost.

The electoral college doesn't have anything to do being a republic.

Being a republic just means you're not a monarchy.

The U.K. isn't a republic and neither are Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

The Soviet Union was a republic and Russia today is a republic.

Communist China and North Korea are republics.

    Some countries are just shitholes.

Off-topic, but I think it does.
The states elect the president. A Republic is just a less direct form of democracy.

Pfft, you really believe all that horseshit about the virtues of a republic and the importance of the electoral college and all that? The democrats need to move left hard and start playing dirty if they wanna win. The republicans have been exploiting the flaws in the electoral system to win for the past two decades and the democrats still think it matters that they do everything by the book.

    In addition, pack the courts.

There's no need to listen to any complaints or to respond. The 2016 general election was carried out as delineated by the law of the land -- end of story.

Nope. You've been duped by RW propaganda.

Clinton had 359 more pledged delegates than Sanders, not counting the "super delegates".

    https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/president/democratic_delegate_count.html

But how would that negate the fact that almost 3 million more Americans voted for Clinton to be their president than donald?

She got the same treatment as she gave Bernie! It was possible for Bernie to get more of the votes, and still lose. Hillary didn't get more votes than trump if you took the fraud voters and multi voters out of the mix. I hear that they are going to post cameras on the voting places outside and use facial recognition to start picking off these democrat illegal aliens and multivoters, plus get a count of the people at the polling places vrs actual votes polled.
