I think the purpose of it is to make people easier to control.
It is easier to control them if you persuade them to feel it is they who are in control.

As far as I am aware all fascist countries and indeed all mass murdering communist countries were republics.
Those mass murders were invariably democratically voted for I suspect.
Their populuses encouraged to feel like participant members of the state.

Yes, things like the fruits of their own labours.
    And their own private property.

Things you would rather they were charged for so that you can have a share.

It's neither your good nor your bad, It's your choice.

A great many of us haven't made the same choice as you and pay our taxes involuntarily.

over a thousand posts later, and taxes continue to remain not forced on anyone.

It also remains a fact that everyone voluntarily pays their taxes, and agreed to the social contract of their society/country/nation.

And what about those people who never asked for anything for free, who don't want these wonderful services?

Because I don't have the choice not to. And nor do you.

I am not able to control everything in my life. There are outside forces.

If you are impaired in some fashion. I can agree with that....Otherwise I claim laziness.

Your agreement isn't required any more than mine is.
You have no more say in what I consent to than I in what you do.

I am an outside force to you. My agreement is beyond your ability to control.

I am impaired by the state. It has power over me.
I am not required to consent to it, I am not required to agree with how it uses it.
I did not volunteer for this. I do not encourage this.
I am forced to accept it. As are you.

    Who told you this lie?

Perhaps it's time to go back to school.

    Which lie?

    I'm a teacher. I never left school.
I'll go one further. I am sensei. I am obliged to speak the truth

Do you honestly think if I say "don't tax me any more", that they will stop?
Do you honestly believe that anyone's consent or agreement is required?
    Dream on.

Ok blind one sorry for your impairment. No wonder you believe there’s no such thing as forced taxes.

“None are so blind as those who will not see”

I will try to educate you as to the difference between forced taxes and voluntary taxes despite your visual and mental handicap.

So in my system there is no such thing as tax evasion, filing or failure to file except for merchants. Even criminals and illegal aliens pay taxes.

Nobody wants to discuss the alternative, voluntary taxation.

Voluntary taxation sounds like an oxymoron.

Yeah because racketeering and slavery is a much more superior and desirable system. Everyone loves it and no one complains.

It is. Taxation is necessarily involuntary, else it would be called a donation.

No. You want all the amenities the public offers but want to pay none of it.

    Move.
Why don't you use the public streets? How do you get to work?

That is a false dichotomy. It's like saying that if you don't pay the mafia, then you're taking advantage of the mafia's protection every time the mafia doesn't rob you.

We are talking about taxes, and you come right out and admit that it's a shakedown. Nice going!!! Did you perchance, vote for Hillary?

I know it wasn't for Trump because you're all about the mafia.

again, the false dichotomy. Did you use public streets that your taxes paid for? OMG!!!!

Stop requiring people to pay for those public streets, and then maybe you can stop committing such obvious logical fallacies.

Services and goods offered by the public is not like the mafia.
We like streets, sidewalks, stop lights, fire depts, police depts. There's a whole host of things taxes pay for that we all use everyday or is at your beckon call.

Why would I vote for Hilary? She was almost as bad as tRUMP. Neither should have been the candidate. But what is one to expect from a tRUMPer, hey.
