    I think they are, but not in the way you depict.

    They are realizing the distinction between a democracy and a republic, and preferring the latter.

    Also, do you have objective evidence that Trump is racist or authoritarian? The article you cited bases its argument on these claims but provides no references to back them up.

    Try reality some time. And what is "the coast media"? They are at Texas A&M

    Have you ever heard of universities? One seriously has to wonder if you know the difference.

    No surprise. It was obvious almost immediately that trump's frothing minions could care less about democracy or American values. When trump called for extreme torture and the deaths of thousand of innocent people, and the crowds cheered, I knew we weren't in Kansas anymore. This is the making of Nazi Germany.

    The author could have saved a lotta words just by asking if whites want fascism. The audience will see it as hyperbolic and we can move on to more honest questions.

    "Whites" don't want fascism but it sure seems to me that trumpies do. It is clear to me that trumpies have no regard for American values. It is all "me me me me me me me. I'm scared. To hell with decency and American values".

    The two terms are pretty much synonymous except when dealing with the Various SSR of the former soviet Union which were neither a Republic nor a democracy and in which the people had almost no say.

    Ah, so you admit to be scared. Fear does not lead to rational thinking. Scared rabbits run mindlessly.

    I grew up dodging the bloods and the crips and the guys who became MS 13. So cry a bucket for me. I lived on the Compton border when I grew up. I worked in Watts and South Central. I know other cultures and have lived among them. And I fear no one because of color.

    We are a Democratic-Republic since we do vote for representation in govt. but we also vote on local issues that are decided by the votes of the local inhabitants.

    Good people do not cheer for extreme torture. Good people do not cheer for mass murder. Good people do not support a man who praises despots and dictators. Good people do not support a man who congratulates someone like Duterte for his death squads.

    There is only one conclusion. Good people do not support trump.

    Unless equal social mobility returns and higher wages people will be dissatisfied with any form of govt.
