How is Washington involved in South Africa? And who are the "cohorts?"

    How exactly?

Maybe you better get your nose out of the MSM propaganda networks, and start delving a little into reality. By now you should know that the FSA who we were arming, is together with Al Nusra, alias Al Queda, alias Al Sham, and that the arms given to one, was going to the other. But there's more - like our allies buying Syria's stolen oil from ISIS and exchanging it for arms, etc., etc.

I can't give you years of knowledge in one post, nor do I have any desire to. That's up to you.

As for S. Africa, I recall the pressure put on them in the past, and I'm sure it will continue.

Because orderly transition makes the most economic sense. Or else you get the populist clustermuck that was zimbabwe.

With such a glaring example of the idiocy of expropriation and corrupt redistribution, the south africans are smart enough to know that they don't want to blow up their country. They want to attract additional investment, not scare it away. They want to grow the economy not cripple it.

Can those white farmers prove they actually bought those lands for a fair price?

Can these black farmers prove they actually owned these lands they now want to steal from white farmers?

A very odd post. I'm sure you're proud of it and that's all that matters. Everyone gets a trophy.

South Africa is nothing like Zimbabwe. The % of people working in the agriculture field in SA is a heck of a lot more smaller compared to Zimbabwe. That and they have been educating the black population for decades in order to take part on an equal level.

We can blame the white population for that one. They banned them from getting an education and employment.

Black South Africans need to work, make money, and buy property instead of waiting for the government to steal the property that belongs to white people and give it to them. How many other problems are there?

The burden of proof should be on the people trying to take the land away from the farmers, not on the farmers.

Pressure by who? And why would the farmers being white and Christian make any difference?

Nazi's stole a lot of art. You think it is reasonable to believe a relative of Jew has the paperwork that survived WWII to get his rightful inheritance? Obviously the burden of prove is on the people who ended up with property that they can not explain how they got it.

Don't you recall the protests, the Hollywood movies making White S. African's evil bad guys, and then the sanctions. I remember the trade of Krugerrand's being one of them.

You asked, pressure by who, no mention of Washington, but Hollywood propaganda will cause people to run to their representatives and demand they do something, which is what they did.

I thought that you may have followed the conversation thread to an earlier stage. The poster that I was replying to said: "I can't see how the white farmers can hold on to the land when Washington and its cohorts will be going against them."

What did they demand their representatives to do something about?

This seems more like Winnie's idea of SA then Nelson's.

    Can anyone say necklace?

not a nice way to go, put a tyre on your shoulders then burn it.

Winnie was a big fan, I would think Nelson wouldn't have approved.

As noted... you have to be albe to prove to be the owner. A white farmer who can not prove that the farm was obtained legally is simply not the owner. I fail to see how a government can't take over from there.

No. We will continue to make our own internal, political civil war even worse than it is, and the Chinese will move even further than ever into Sub-Saharan Africa, including the Union of South Africa.

Xi Jinping probably is more intelligent than the entire United States Government at this point... and while China succeeds at everything it does, we are increasingly embroiled in stabbing each other in the back, the guts, the face, the ass -- whatever is handy.... We have come to really HATE each other, and we're falling apart as a result.

Hint: during the next ten years, an economic/military alliance between Russia, China, and most of the EU (led by Germany) will RULE the entire Eastern Hemisphere of Earth, which, of course, includes South Africa. And, meanwhile, here in the U. S., we'll probably still be trying to figure out which public bathrooms we should pee in.... :spin:

[IMG]. "We Chinese know exactly where we will go pee. In time, we will tell America where it can pee...."

I am quite familiar with the substantive differences between the two nations. I think we violently agree. That is why SA won't be a "genocidal land grab" as the idiot racists and paranoid want everyone to believe.

Are you talking about zimbabwe? Yes their version of colonial apartheid was violently overthrown. South Africa's transition was democratic and relatively peaceful. Its only been 25 years since Mandela came to power. Right man, right time, right message.

Mandela insisted on forgiveness in order to move forward. But he also insisted on righting the many wrongs that the system had imposed. Many many of them have and the time has come to address the issue of land ownership redistribution in an orderly method that is economically advantageous to as many as possible.
