BREAKING: Sources tell me Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein will be offering his resignation within the next 48 - 72 hours. Friday afternoon will be my guess.

    Sessions just left the DOJ.

That would be wise. Hopefully this new guy won’t pull any crap. If he does, it’s a sure sign that Trump is really worried and going kamikaze.

I’m not referring to anyone specifically. I’ve been discussing Washington’s Farewell Address with my English students the past few days because I see a lot of it related to our current political situation.

I’d never try to be so specifically about predicting the future as you name names. I only notice that the tit-for-tat style of partisan politics looks almost exactly what Washington warned would be the risk of allowing partisan interests to overpower national unity. As he stated, party influence fluctuates continuously and tends to breed feelings of resentment and calls for revenge. Whoever would end up being the tyrant to take over and stop the chaos through sheer force of will remains to be seen, assuming Washington’s warning plays out as he predicts.

So who am I thinking? Hopefully nobody... if we heed the warnings. I have little hope of that, however, as most Americans these days don’t even seem to be able to conceive of anything other than partisan politics.

    I’m just rambling now, but I think—buried in there somewhere—is a point.

We will see. Once Mueller meets with the new acting AG, we will have a better picture.

a mutual agreement does not equate to a firing, get a grip, sessions himself stated he resigned, it does not matter if anyone asked him to ;)

Good morning. In case anyone forgot, Jeff Sessions must resign as AG. He cannot possibly lead DOJ to promote trust & rule of law.

legally there'd be no culpability on trumps part, unless sessions testifies under oath that he was coerced... short of that, zip, nada...

Friday afternoon is usually when Mueller releases indictments. Hopefully they push it up to Thursday just in case.

    That's nice.

But Trump fired Sessions and passed over rosenstein so that he could influence the Mueller probe.

It's not a secret .You can stop with the charade.

I am not trying to... Legally, Sessions resigned, he was not fired, no one held a gun to his head... When someone writes a letter of resignation, declares "I RESIGN" and signs it, it means exactly literally absolutely what it says - the person resigns LOL @ poor desperate libs, another one of their fantasies is ruined.

He's going to have to strap on a set if he is going to go toe to toe with The Orange Tornado For Good.

Just what I thought would happen.

A side affect of TDS,...Whittaker Derangement Syndrome (WDS)

Top Dems demand Whitaker recusal, sound alarm after Sessions' resignation: 'This is a break-the-glass moment'
    :roflol::roflol::roflol:

Well the Democrats blue ripple victory party didn't even last for one day.
The Democrats got hit by a Trump left hook.

Of course, we all know sessions was effectively fired. And we all know why.

If they did why were they not charged in the last 8 years, or 6, or 4, or the best is why were they not charged in the last 2 years?

It's like being a little pregnant - there is no such thing as being "effectively fired". Someone is either fired or he quits...

Sessions states in his statement that he resigns, yet TDS internet lunatics argue that they know better. :D Too funny

Indeed we do. He should've never recused himself and the moment he did so, he was AG in name only. Now we have an actual AG in there in Whittaker, I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up being the permanent guy there.

Yes he should have, by any standard. Only the criminal president thinks he should not have done so, and that's because he's a criminal.

I am sure that Mueller, being the consummate professional that he is will be more than willing to fill the new acting AG what he is doing. It is his job to do so. Mueller is not some rogue deep State operative like some imbeciles have been suggesting for over a year. However, if this guy goes running to Trump like Nunez did, that would not be kosher. At this point, I don’t know if this guy is a lackey or a professional so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Mueller has only recently flipped Manafort and Cohen. It may take some time to follow up and verify information he got from them. Hopefully Mueller can wrap it up soon, but if there is still work to be done, I am in favor of letting the independent investigation take its course. What’s the big hurry? Trump should just keep his trap shut about it and quit acting like a big baby until Mueller is done doing his job. Calling Mueller names before he has even charged or accused Trump of anything makes it look like he is guilty.
