I do celebrate those like Bill Gates, and many many others, who are involved in helping society. It makes no difference how their money was earned...what's important is how they are spending it...

So we have market concentration generating the businessmen that you celebrate and then the same market concentration corrupting your political system (but you ignore that as you blame voters, whilst ignoring the radical left). You're going around in ever diminishing circles.

Nothing you can say can legitimately remove the good-will provided by billionaires, millionaires, and every day people who support charitable and societal issues through their personal giving. https://www.gatesfoundation.org/What-We-Do
Please find something worthy to complain about...

I'm in reality...nothing you mention is going to change...and whether it is billionaires or local people volunteering at a food pantry, if they are giving back to society...THIS IS A GOOD THING!

Charity tends to be regressive, but let's not worry about reality when you're busy celebrating corporate power!

I'm not corporate power? But I volunteer my time and give my resources to non-profit groups. Multiply 'me' by millions and the combined giving is significant...no matter how the resources were accrued. In fact, people should try to imagine how society today would be without corporate and personal giving? No matter how you wish to philosophize my economic rents, fact is if I'm doing things right I will accumulate more and more assets and no matter the scale of this accumulation, it is not evil. IMO the private sector does a much better job of spending money where it most helps society while giving more and more to government in taxes only serves to fund another war or buy more military gadgets or make the politicians richer...

Again, you're myth building. Regressivity in charitable giving is documented. Imagine how much would actually be given if the system wasn't so corrupted towards big business?

That's the trouble with America. They don't really give a toss about individualism anymore!

Oh Please, That is Naive, but we hear it all the time. Ever since their Taxes were cut in the 1980s. No one should have been allowed to amass that much money. The Govt had it really well from 1935 - 1985 when taxing the rich, passing it off to state who worked it through programs to the working class. Both of you are arguing on a minimum level about small things that should not be an issue.
They are an Issue because the Mega rich, which are 90% Jewish (not antisemi) just a fact. Control the FED, the Biotechs, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and 90% of the S&P 500. They are brilliant people, but many are also very very Greedy. I have no problem with any religion. But, if you tie your religion to Anti Goyim (goy) marriage, tie your religion to Superior Support for your country, then you are asking to be singled out.
Again, make sure you understand, I do NOT have a problem with any religion or any Jewish person. I have a problem with these very people, who dont want singled out, hiding behind their religion when convenient. The minute you mention brilliance, they are right there, mention greed and they have no idea what you mean.

We give them billions even year, yet they have no national debt. We have Trillions and still give them money ? Why dont we give Italy money, there are many more catholics here then jews ? Or to Ireland ? Because the people that came here from those countries became Americans. The Jewish want the best of both worlds, not only American, but JEWISH Americans with a tangent country to call a religious home. Home absurd is that ? Why would we give Israel money ? Because the billion and Millionaires here want us too.

I think your little bickering here is just that, a tangent to make others think what you mention is important... The next thread will be "Is there a recession coming and why" as if this isnt already happening and everyone is too dumb to know why.

Once again, there should be no need to GIVE if only the regulation and taxes had stayed the same. Making it sound like a good thing that someone that took advantage of the SYSTEM is gives. They control the media, thus your opinion of making yourself feel good by giving. If they were stopped from obtaining so much, it would not be needed. Then you would have twice you income and you could hand the few people still broke your money.
You need to know, it is GREED and noting more, well, power too, but needs stopped if your children and grand children are to have favorable lives. This goes for all the rich people, and not just the Jewish ones, they are a great example of what shouldn't be. But, since THEY also control the MEDIA, they play it off as charity, not greed and warming their own feelings by giving back. Must be the Guilt !

Regressivity only pertains to tax deductions on giving, and, all individuals who itemize deductions can make the charitable deductions...not just big business or wealthy people. And when you only look at tax deductions you are ignoring the tremendous good that exists from corporate and personal giving. It is the non-profit institutions who will whine when government stops allowing charitable giving deductions. Just like terminating government tax credits for consumers buying alternative energy products creates a huge drop in consumption, having the charitable tax deduction is critical for the non-profits. Fact is big business, or any taxpayer, cannot take a charitable tax deduction unless they are donating to non-profits. It is these donations you should focus on...

No it doesn't. It refers to % of extra dollar that goes to charity.

One guy earns $1 million a year and donates $50 bucks to a charity. Another guy who earns $20K a year donates the same $50 bucks to the same charity. The guy earning $1 million itemizes deductions and deducts $50 from their taxable income while the other guy does not itemize and cannot deduct the donation. This means a majority of tax deductions go to wealthier people. This is regressive to the person earning $20K/year...

You're trying to prance, when the obvious will do. How much of an extra dollar will be given in charity? Despite not having a tax accountant telling him what to do, the poorer person gives more.

Everything you've said so far has actually been a celebration of economic rent and market concentration.

It's not that simple. But a pschologist by the name of Abraham Maslow in 1943 devised mankind's "Hierarchy of Needs" that look rather straightforward:
The hard-part is not understanding the pyramidal hierarchy, but getting to the top.

That is, when we strive always for more, more, more that furthermost "self-actualization" becomes more difficult to achieve. Because "achievement" never ends for some and induces a need for even further achievement.

We are driven for more, more, more.

Not all of us. But far too many ...

PS: How Maslow's Famous Hierarchy Explains Human Motivation

A bubble within it perhaps. I will never find your support for economic rent agreeable.

It's not 'my' support but more about reality...how can you possibly quantity economic rent? Who is to say, or judge, how much economic rent, if any, is acceptable? Logic alone dictates, IMO, that it's always beneficial in the long term to sustain economic rents...it is critical to have a surplus since we never know the potential downside of the future...
