Boy Scouts of America may file for bankruptcy

I'm not aware that there was a facet of conservatives who are ant-Boy Scout. However I agree that the number of out gay Boy Scout leaders was probably pretty low, but if you are a parent of a boy, such a policy might make you think twice, just as you would if the Girl Scouts had guys as Scout Leaders. That's what changed, regardless of the previous record of sexual abuse cases (which were not exactly a secret-there have been news stories about them for years).

 

So the closeted gays are the real problem? I'm not buying your thesis, but you're welcome to it of course.

I'm claiming that any organization dealing with minors in loco parentis, particularly in an unsupervised situations, will have issues with sexual abuse.

I'm claiming the Boy Scouts, with sexual abuse charges stretching back decades, wanted a public policy prohibiting gays as a way to re-assure parents.

I'm claiming that once the BSA got woke, parents were apprehensive about putting young boys under the supervision of gays.

I'm also claiming that there was not a rush of liberal parents joining up their kids to the Boy Scouts after they changed their policy.

I'm claiming that the following conditions add up to a Boy Scout bankruptcy.

I see why you would say that but to properly understand the situation you have to look at it from a parent's point of view. If you're a parent, you may consider your daughter under equal or greater threat from Guy (I meant "guy" not gay) Girl Scout leaders as you would from Lesbian Girl Scout Leaders.

BSA could easily have cake and cookie sales and make millions every year like the Girl Scouts do. Instead, they are playing the sympathy card by making this announcement knowing that people will donate millions to keep it going.

The problem with your analysis is that sexual abuse charges was stretching back decades, but the pedophilia from the scoutmasters abusing young boys went back since forever!

It was only in the 70s some, but only began in earnest in the 80s and 90s when serious attention and prosecuting for child abuse that just involved sexual use of children. Before that, attention for sexual abuse of children was required forceable rape involving physical damages, total strangers, and other severe abuse. Look at all the untold thousands of sexual use of priests, BSA, teachers and other family members who were never charged or even told.

BECAUSE of the sexual revolution, and of the admitting of gay sex by people who weren't sexual abusers, of the previous assumption that powerful men could do whatever they wanted without question, we have slowly actually catching these sick and cruel abusers of children and of the less-priviliged people who can be exploited by the Bastards.

Parents have little to fear from gay men or women, no more than any regular decent person.

Talk with your kids. Really talk to them. Mandated teachers, doctors, nurses, priests and everyone like that has done more to save children than any worthless, thoughtless policy that "gays", or "single men" are dangerous.

Well you did say that they prohibited homosexuals from being part of it to reassure parents. Yet prior to them removing that restriction there were sex abuse cases. So Banning homosexual was just lip service. Because prior to the ban being lifted there was sexual abuse.

It may reassure idiots who want to believe idiotic things but that's all it is. And why restrict boys who may want to join who may benefit from being members in the program to pay lip service to idiots?
