If she is, indeed, returning to the bench, I would certainly applaud that. However, that is not my understanding. I hears that she plans to stay home next week, too. Where did you receive your information? Note: I am not being argumentative; I simply wish to check your source against mine, and see what is correct.
In most other jobs, the remaining workers simply take up the slack for a short period of time. However, here, there is no way to do so. Moreover, it all begs the question: Does she plan on returning to the Court (preferably, soon)? Or does she simply wish to deny President Trump a third Supreme Court pick--even if she never returns?
And I hope that she does, indeed, recover--although I would not be entirely sanguine about the prospects. (Cancer sometimes goes into remission; but it usually re-surfaces.) Would you care to elucidate, please? Or is that just a drive-by slap in the face?
The truth? In truth I despise Ginsburg for her ideology and politics. But were she -- say -- only fifty and had undergone these various surgical procedures then I would say, "Give her a chance for her body to recuperate." The nation won't come to an end simply because she missed some oral arguments since surely her various clerks can fill her in regarding the essentials. Thus -- and reluctantly -- I am going to say "Give her a chance for her body to recuperate," nation-hating leftist that she is.
unless she is incapacitated, yes. however, the decent thing to do, the responsible thing, would be to step aside, like reagan should have done around 1986 when it was clear he was losing it.
You only say it’s the “decent thing to do” because of your politics. I have no allegiance to either side so I say to ANY justice, stay on as long as you damn well please and f those who want you to go.
Nah. Voluntary resignation would be ludicrous (and in any event, regardless of how much the RW Shills would love it, resignation isn't happening). Sorry to burst your bubble.
uh what? where is your evidence to support this baseless wild claim? your allegiances are irrelevant.
I fully agree with the above. Correct me if i make an error, but hasn't it been the Democrats that haul to their voting sessions Democrats who are very ill?
I may not accept all of her rulings yet do not want to force the Justice to leave prior to her own desire. She got more of my respect when she became close friends with the deceased Scalia whom i have two times called Alito. I sure was snoozing. LMAO
Your pals here tried to keep off the court a brilliant Judge and treat him with contempt by claiming he is guilty of sex crimes. I want Ginsburg to stay until she feels like retiring. But these dumb attacks against posters need to come to a halt.
