Natural born citizen bad -- illegal alien good. If citizen is killed, no loss, no sweat, no care. Give the illegals the treasury money.

Well, after spending billions on right of ways, eminent domain seizures of land, etc., abandoning the infrastructure already built would result in a permanent monument to the insanity of Progressive leadership. Can't have that.

Better to operate something nobody will use, than to have such a high profile example of Jerry Brown's legacy rotting in the wind....

That's a thought. Millions of bicyclists would be thrilled to have the ability to travel seemlessly between Bakersfield and Fresno.

They could make it something like a leg of the BORAF -- an equivalent to the big ole ride around France.

I don't know how much CA spent on the boondoggle but I do know US taxpayers are getting stiffed for billions that Newsom refuses to give back. It would seem congress needs to withhold any additional aid or grants to CA until spending differences are reconciled.

There used to be a joke that really wasn't a joke as to why it took so long to build expressways in Chicago back in the 1960's when the Eisenhower, Dan Ryan and others were being planned. It was said the reason was that corrupt politicians first had to grab the land and right of ways, buy it at bargain prices and then sell it back to the city at 10 times the price.

    :bored:

    Nobody WASTED $77 billion.

As of December only $5.4 billion had been spent, and now most of the rest has been scrubbed.

You need to get your facts straight.

When they are smart enough to splinter the Party!
The leadership will have to "bait them back"!

That is the history of the :flagus: Third Party system
Progressives, Socialists, merging with the Democratic Party
    way back before FDR.

It is too bad if theynews can't work it out. When we are in Europe I love using the French TGV and German ICE high speed trains. They are great value and so easy to use. I heard recently they are considering a high speed track between Portland, Seattle and Vancouver. I hope one of these eventually gets done. IMHO it is such a better travel alternative to short haul flights.

When a border is covered 365 days per year, one must take into account payroll. A worker typically works 8 hrs. They also receive benefits. Such as vacation pay and sick pay. They however are not on the job 365 days. So one must have 3 shifts covered along with time off for vacation and sick days off. In other words, you can't do the job with a single person. The wall is enormous. And easily seen through. Those attacking the steel slats can be seen by video. Drones will play a role. Anyway, Democrats are normally not in charge of human resources other than as workers. They seem not to know what i just reported.

Yes, a bullet train between Merced (83,000 people) and Bakersfield (380,000 people) is moronic. But what can you expect from our morons in chief running CA into the ground.

I would believe even in France and Germany the passenger train lines are severely limited to the few major hubs. As to going to small towns, I suspect those are by slow rail. When a person is on vacation, it is vastly different than for those able here in CA to simply catch a low cost airplane ride and in the local city use it's transit.

Take BART for instance. I happen to have worked on the BART to build it. I recall how slow things move and why they move slow. We spent years on BART and if one has to add 5 miles new track, it takes not days or weeks, but several years. It seems too bad so few actually worked on high speed rail and do not understand how slow things go in the construction phase. And costs rise very quickly as well.

Some will say, oh well, once it is built, you get to use it. I frankly have used BART but so very seldom it is simply not worth you paying all the costs so i can ride BART every few years.Parking for cars is seldom thought of by fans of high speed rail. And now BART has resorted to forcing passengers into paying to park the car too. Tracks are not very close either.

164 miles of high speed rail. And what is in Merced for a person in Bakersfield?

No private rail company would consider this and government should not either. I voted against this track when it was put up for the vote. I know how costs skyrocket and construction moves at a snails pace in CA. And the environmental study is a slow process too. CA has a very developed air system. We do not need a slower way to travel.

That train has the potential to make the trip for illegals faster, not slower. It was sold as a bill of goods to voters in CA who were suckers to pay for a system that in no way protects this country from illegal aliens.

AND ..... and this has to be the cheapest part of the rail line. It gets much more expensive the closer to the big cities they get. Once they enter cities, prices skyrocket.

Look, all they had to do was build a few more airports and direct traffic to airplanes and problem solved. Imagine Brown had actually cut costs to fly.

OK to all the visitors here to my state.

I want you on that train the day a huge earthquake hits. Can you stand the shaking up there on the upper reaches? If you are moving at 250 mph, what do you think the shaking will do for you? What if the quake launches you off the rails down to the ground?

Ed Markey is 66 years old and the coauthor. The green new deal is a joke. It would destroy the US economy for nothing. The new green deal would result in no significant reduction in the global average temperature 100 years from now. The new green deal is exactly what China dreams about to ensure that their goal of global dominance comes to fruition.

But that approach wouldn't have provided the windfall to their union bosses, or provided cushy jobs to termed out Democrats.

I wish Democrats got to stop worshiping their politicians and actually got to know them.

I met a few times and talked to (D) Delaine Easton. She is in the running to be our next governor of CA. Delaine was formerly a senior manager at ATT and was clear of mind and good of heart. she tried to reform CA school system. She had to work with her hands tied behind her back.

A major problem at all levels of governance is bureaucrats. Want to know who sabotages Trump? They do it. They are the leakers. They know the system and how to put dynamite on the tracks. We have a serious problem with the full time workers at Government.

I met and had dinner with (D) Bill Lockyer. Want a basket case? Study that politician. I told the story of going to Sacramento where we had him as our dinner guest. We knew he would always go for free food. Seriously, he was famous for seeking free meals. I was getting angry with him prior to dessert. Bill was divorced later and attracted to a beautiful whore. She ruined her career using drugs. He stood by her side. Bill married the whore. Read up on him and her.

At one of our meetings, we had Leon Panetta talking to us. I did not meet him but was there for his speech.

If this instant we had the Green new Deal, this nation would be truly crippled. Imagine all those solar systems covered in ice and not operable. Imagine the frozen world of windmills.
