    So true!

A resolution has no force of law.

But the Fox Noise, Limbaugh loonies aren't being told that. The usual backwoods type are peddling the same old tired fake claims about cold, sack cloth and ashes, and the imaginary death of air travel.

Reality pales in the face of the ridiculous distopian fantasies that permeate looney right wing trash media.

    My ilk?

Dang dude, get a clue and we can have a discussion.

Not familiar with all the regulations Obama hammered down on business? Not familiar with Obama's EPA Environment Justice Initiative?

Not familiar with the trade policies Obama encouraged that allowed other Nations to flood our shores with products Obama's Agenda mandated.

What is it that you actually do know Tom? You're not showing that the list is very long.

    Sorry, I misspoke.

I thought you were talking about McConnell's annoucement of Trump's intention to usurp McConnell's authority.

I'm actually delighted that he is scheduling a resolution on the Green New Deal.

It's just a resolution. And all the Republicans will vote against it, while their media peddles the same old scare stories that right wingers have served up every time anyone mentioned environmental or energy policy for the last half century.

It has no force in law.

But Democrats will be able to frame it, and the GOP scare campaign about it, as exhibit one in the conservative fight against the future and its war on progress.

The man who was nowhere to be found when we needed a vote to end the government shutdown or when we needed to nominate a supreme court justice under Obama. McConnell is truely a great politician in the worst sense of the word.

    No big...

Of course, it doesn't. The point of the vote in the Senate is to get all the Democrats who are stupid enough to vote for the New Green $teal on record. The GOP successfully used the same tactic to run Dems out of office with all the FullRetardCare votes they held and McConnell is going back to the well here.

There's another thing to keep in mind - if AOC's crackpot proposal wasn't a crackpot proposal Pelosi would be pushing legislation through the House to give it the force of law, but she panned it as a crackpot proposal instead.

I hope they do - Dems excel at insulting people's intelligence, and it's worked out sooooo well for them. The problem with that strategy is that it doesn't take into account the fact that everyone who is living outside the LW sensory deprivation tank will see right through that narrative. If Dems were smart they would shove the NG$ down the Memory Hole and run as fast and far away from it as they can.

What I'm really interested in seeing is how this plays out in the Democratic presidential primaries. How far will the socialist kooks and their proposals drag the candidates and their party towards the lunatic Leftist fringe? The further they drag the candidates and the party to the extremist fringe the harder it's going to be for Dems to convince people that they are moderate and sensible instead of insane.

It is going to be really hard to paint the Democrats as the kooks when the Republicans keep denying the reality of global warming.

You should probably qualify that as anthropogenic global warming, as that seems to be the element in the equation that is much more uncertain. If we implemented all of Ocasio's policies within the next 10 years, sending us back to pre-industrial revolution times, but China who produces twice the carbon emissions that we do continues to increase their output, do you think this would solve what you perceive as the crisis?

You do understand they edited the source documents on the website after peoples jaws dropped? You’re not looking at what it says NOW are you? They removed a lot of the really outrageous things. People were VLOGing and doing live podcasts while reading what it said when it first went live. Cortez and others already backtracked on the original plan.

    My friend,

    What produces emissions?

That's right, fossil fuels. What do airplanes run on? That's right, on fossil fuel.

...Buried in the details, the Green New Deal also promises government control of the most fundamental aspects of private life. The fact sheet explains why the resolution doesn’t call for “banning fossil fuels” or for “zero” emissions across the entire economy—at least at first. It’s because “we aren’t sure that we’ll be able to fully get rid of farting cows and airplanes that fast”... :frustrated:

Even if we went completely green, we are not the issue. China and India are destroying the worlds environment at a rate that can't be sustained over time. Essentially, AOC and her "little green minions" are ignoring this while trying to destroy America at the same time.

Like most of them a hypocrite.

A revealing two weeks for the Democrats.

By the end of the week, a second woman emerged with yet another detailed, credible allegation of sexual assault against Mr. Fairfax dating back to his college days. This allegation included contemporary, corroborating witnesses. Mr. Fairfax lost half his staff but stays in office demanding “due process,” a luxury Democrats refused to afford Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh when faced with sketchy, uncorroborated, contradictory accusations at his confirmation hearings.

Democrats: The party of unequal justice when politicians are accused of sexual assault.

Next came the Green New Deal ballyhooed by the young socialists in the congressional freshman class. It was immediately embraced by more senior Democrats wanting to appear woke with the kids. A fact sheet on the sweeping plan revealed modest 10-year goals like basically eliminating air travel, fossil fuels and the internal-combustion engines, plus a lament that ending cow farts might take longer.

Democrats: The party of light rail, tofu and the economic dark ages.

They’ll remake us all into the New Soyviet Man.

The Left tends to be pro-Chinese Communists. The Chinese Communists by a lot of Left-wing Politicians, they support Left Wing DC Think Tanks and they send a lot of money to US universities. In exchange, the Left always carries the water of the Chinese position in any US/Chinese conflict.

TO BE FAIR, THEY PROBABLY CAN’T EXPLAIN “CLIMATE CHANGE” EITHER:

Yes but try to remember what you actually claimed the resolution said:

    Dutch said:
No... the resolution called to make such trains that the air travel will become unnecessary... same meaning,

Guess you are now disavowing that post!

I think you should actually read Ocasio's resolution. Then try to actually quote which parts will return us to pre- industrial revolution times. Amazing that those who criticize the resolution seem to have never made the effort to read it.

I think there are many good ideas in the plan. I think 15 years is to optimistic but 25 years- I think would be doable. If solar panels efficiencies continue on the present curve I think that would be reachable. I think we can have solar powered cars in the burbs pretty easily. I think energy wise we can get at least 75% the way there. I don't understand why we still burn coal when we sell gas overseas. I see no reason that every coal fired plant can't be converted to gas by then. I am certainly in favor of tax credits to increase energy conservation. I was always intrigued by Ross Perot's idea of the Southwest as a wind farm. I like the idea of trading countries having like standards.

I can just imagine a meeting of the cows:

"This is the ninety-eighth annual meeting of the Bovine Sisterhood today. Prior to any other business, please let me note that the committee has before it, at this moment, a resolution to phase out all cow farts by the year 2030. All who are in favor of this resolution should respond by saying "Moo!"

    Well, something like that, anyway...
