They won't find any corporate lobby groups but are you aware of K Street and what lives on it? There's a think tank for practically anything and everything you want.
And by the way, electric cars have a lobby group, green energy has a lobby group.
    Surely you're aware of this?

I don't think it's the ideal system but it has BEEN the system for forty years now, maybe more. The old "Schoolhouse Rock" meme "I'm just a bill" is a joke. Nobody can just climb Capitol Hill and "introduce a piece of legislation" anymore. This is not the age of "Mister Smith Goes to Washington".

So you're saying you like Right Wing troll propaganda, you have never actually read the text of the GND and you have no actual idea what it is save for what Sean Hannity told you, got it.

Not since the Luddites smashed the textile mills has there been such a shrieking shrill siren of knee jerk reactionary paranoia in the public spotlight.
    Bring back the buggy whips.

Anyone who is, is a fool for he will find that he can not please everyone and trying to do so will satisfy no one including himself.

She wants to bulld a train to China, just sent $37B in economic activity packing for baseless ideological reasons, and cannot even identify the three branhes of the government she works for. She is a moron. But she’s like down for the struggle man! So people like you just adore her.

I think you’re trying to say you dispute my claim that she’s a mental midget.

You really want to go out on that limb?

Oh please they've changed the thing at least twice since it first came out. Further, the fact is the plan even without trains to Hawaii cannot be done in 10 years not enough construction workers and way to much too stuff to do just getting enough trains from East too west coast to cut air travel by twenty percent would take more than ten years and that's with emergency authorization to avoid all the various environmental impact statements the such a huge project would normally entail. It simply isn't physically possible.

I don't think she's a mental midget, I think she is something of an economic illiterate and she isn't polished enough on energy issues. But she seems to possess the willingness to learn.
If she doesn't, she'll be gone in two years.

It's not a law so babbling about trains to Hawaii is absurd.
It's purely aspirational, like all resolutions are. And guess what? It's gonna get a bunch of rewrites. Schumer has basically pronounced it "not ready for prime time".
    And he's right.

Now tell me how home DVD burning is impossible.
That's what the commercial DVD industry thought in 1998.
By 2006 home computer DVD burners were $149 bucks

Because think tanks don't have agendas? There are NO independent institutions on the peripheries of political activism. Think tanks "think" about who, and what's going to pay their salaries. Musk, and his subsidies were exactly the corp. welfare I eluded to. You're aware Musk shuttered a dozen subsidized solar facilities? Obama's "renewables" investments were a awful

Hey, if you have an idea how to eliminate lobby and think tank influence on the Hill, I am all ears.

If you wish to describe impossible as not ready for prime time Schumer and I are for once in agreement. Even if they can get everyone sort of on board for this, I doubt they can settle on the legislation in less than a couple of years let alone get it done in ten.

Higher prevalence of the same technology, such as increased broadband coverage, isn't exactly what I'd call new technology.

Computing power differences were much more noticeable from 1989 to 1999.

Autonomous driving is great except for all the accidents.

I don't consider these incremental increases technology breakthroughs. The two I listed (gene editing and the LHC) is more what I mean.

I want someone to explain to me how health insurance CEO profits enhance the actual quality of the actual health care delivered, seeing as how our health insurance profits by DENYING health care to the greatest extent possible.

The media is badly botching the Medicare-for-all debate

Simply put, I'd like to see just one of these right wing moguls explain to us why what we're doing right NOW IS affordable (which it isn't) and why they are sure it will remain affordable (which it won't) or at the very least, prove that it will NOT become even MORE unaffordable. (which it most definitely WILL)
If they could prove that what we are doing RIGHT NOW will become substantially CHEAPER in the next ten years, I will eat a MAGA hat dipped in poodle piss.

    Your desperation is showing.
You're desperate to make her the central issue of the next campaign but it won't work.

I have ... but that's not relevant to the presentation of Ms Cortez "green new deal" ... or Schumer's opposition to doing it. The assertion, #87, was that "conservatives should take the time to consider her ideas for their merits" ... Which the Senate's conservative majority is willing to do ... showcasing her "dynamic, intelligent leadership". What's Schumer's problem?

I think you skipped over my post except for the Schumer part.
That's okay, you weren't intending to talk about this seriously anyway.

I said that the proposal is aspirational, you skipped it.
I said that it's definitely going to get sent back for rewrites, BECAUSE it is just a proposal, you not only skipped it, you're feeding your hysteria with it.
    Bait-gloating isn't debate.

    Bye.

Then don't whine about the fact that it needs input from think tanks then.
If it's not relevant, don't bring up your objections.
The fact is, in order to make a presentation like this ready for prime time, she's going to need help.

    It's not a LAW, it's a proposal, a resolution.
It has no legal weight for the same reason flag burning resolutions have no legal weight.

It's pretty hard to comprehend something Occasional Cortex spouts because the Democrats are very busy trying to rewrite and cover up and modify her wacky ideas like totally eliminating all fossil fuels. I do like her no more farting cows position though.
God bless this dingbat as she now leads the democrat party. She is a one woman Thelma and Louise.

AOC reminds me of Commodus; many of the strains of power & influence, interwoven in the movie Gladiator, are what her ilk has us grappling with... AOC's millions of following 'twit twits' are a testament of the power derived from swaying the following of the masses.

(I really have tried to be sparing with my Gladiator references, lol)

    - The 'idea' / perception (illusions) of the masses are where the 'greatness', vision & power lie.
    - 'he will bring them death - and thy will love him for it'
    - Rome is the mob. Conjure magic for them and they'll be distracted. Take away their freedom and still they'll roar
    - 'the beating heart of 'a nation' is not the marble of the Senate of but the sands of the Colosseum
