How rational countries deal with gun violence.

Neither is owning drugs. Lots of things aren't intrinsically wrong. Lots of things are subjectively wrong.

Anyway, you're trying to bend my original point. People do bad things, we all suffer and pay a price of freedoms for the good of society.

Because the NRA and gun loonies subvert the meaning of the 2nd Amendment and spread propaganda and fight any effort to stop the madness, the rest of us law abiding citizens who don't even own guns (the vast majority) have to live in a country where nothing gets done in regard to the death and destruction caused by the over abundance of guns and gun culture.

In addition it's generally considered wrong to sell a child drugs without parental permission as the parent is the conservator of the child, and generally it is considered abuse of a child to give them psychoactive drugs as it harms their development and they cannot choose for themselves.

Taxes would also apply, and search at point of entry. All part of sovereignty.

Go read any old admiralty case from around the founding: every ship was armed and I'm not talking just the ones with letters of marque or a reprisal (two separate but related things. Two things constitutionally authorized for a reason). You could buy cannons ffs, and there was no background check or registry. There was cash on the barrellhead.

And thanks for noting that we ARE safe. This is some of the reason why NZ is so upset. They felt safe. They have not had the daily immersion in violence that makes places like America so inured to the tragedy
