Conservatives. What SHOULD health care in America look like?

A doctor only owes $200,000 in student loans because the government doesn't step aside, and offers, nay, guarantees those loans in the first place. That has resulted in skyrocketing education costs (inflation and a general lowering of the bar are inevitable with all that free government money to scoop up), with health care costs downstream from that.

 

How would Mr. Ingalls handle a nuclear strike?

In every country with free healthcare it is political suicide to try and dismantle it

Dude it is 50k because of government involvement. Because we have the worst of all possible worlds There really hasn't been a free market in medicine since Medicare and medicaid came into existence.

 

How can you have a free market when people literally will die if they do not receive treatment? If someone is having a heart attack, they can’t sit their and shop for the best deal.

 

Despite the government being many trillions in debt, with little confidence in the bureaucracy or either political party, many people still think that the government will give them a healthy check each month a few decades from now. This is a dangerous dream - a form of insanity.

How can you prepare for something that costs millions of dollars more than your coverage will ever allow?

A family doctor doesn’t usually have the facilities and training to perform advanced surgery.

This idiotic free market family doctor model “worked” (read: lots of patients died) back when doctors didn’t even know what “antibiotics”, “DNA”, and “open heart surgery” were. It won’t work now. Doctors can’t just prescribe you leeches and cocaine and say “Well God works in mysterious ways” when you die.
