You don't need an amendment. Current state laws on the books should be more than sufficient.

Of and ought to be? Currently most states have laws on the books stating that your kids have to be vaccinated in order to attend Public schools. That should be enough.

Not interested. We don't need to authorize draconian tactics via constitutional amendment to handle this problem. We need to continue to complicate the lives of parents who choose not to have their kids vaccinated. If they can't put their kids in day care, or public schools, and if most pediatricians and dentists refuse to take on these kids as regular patients, unless they get their vaccines, parents will mostly cave. Which kids do you want sitting in your lobby for hours playing with the toys and handling the furnishings?

I don't want to wait for people to get annoyed and do it, I want threat of prison, expatriation or getting your door knocked down by swat to get them stop hiding their children, and I want the government to be able to take the kids and vaccinate them without parental permission only the note of a doctor saying its safe for them

They are bringing back epidemics that they themselves are immued to. I thinking doing the authoritarian way saying, you have no rights to your oppinion on this and we will throw you in jail swat your house or expatriate you and kick you out, maybe to Saudi Arabia or NK probably that one for those bible thumping idiots who are using it as an excuse not to do it.

Sorry we already have more people in jail than we have room for. PLease note a goodly chunk of that problem would be taken care of if we would control our southern border.

Take away exemptions except for valid medical reason, and then enforce the laws.

Okay but seriously just send them to Alaska in a zone completely cut off from the rest of the state and let them live outside of civilization until they give in

Constitutional Amendment to Require everyone who is not allergic to vaccines to get them.

I'm going to assume the purpose for this would be to prevent the spreading of communicable diseases, so as not to spread them to other citizens. To accomplish this you want to empower the federal government to force all citizens to engage in specific actions which are designed to help prevent disease.

I can see how once government mandated behavior is established as the function of government, to prevent disease. That we could see politicians justify using government to force people to not engage in premarital sex. the purpose of this being done, so as people would not contract communicable diseases. If they do not comply they will be punished by government. This would help end AIDS, and a lot of STDs, if our single people were not having multiple partners.

What's the difference, really? Both actions taken by government would reduce the spread of diseases, if that is now the function of government. If history has shown us anything, it's that once you allow the federal government to stick their nose under the tent, their power and authority over their perceived areas of duty and influence just keeps growing.

The proposal goes a bit overboard, but I do support holding parents who fail to vaccinate their children liable for child neglect.

What if the one spreading various illnesses to children too young to be vaccinated, is in fact an adult who is a carrier and demonstrates no outward symptoms? Who receives the blame then?

Only one amendment limits what individual citizens can do, the 13th. There is also only one place in the constitution where it outlines a crime.

The parent who would be tested along with everyone around the baby, and then those with the illness forced to get the vaccine and the baby goes into shelter until able to get the vaccination

Your proposal shows you have no clue what the purpose of the Constitution is. To put it in simple terms, it's a law designed to protect The People from their government, it is NOT and was never meant to be a law to be enforced on The People.

"The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first." - Thomas Jefferson, author of our founding document, the Declaration of Independence.

The above post was misunderstood by yourself. The question does not pertain specifically to a parent, but rather an adult in general. What if the one spreading the disease is a legal adult, and a carrier who demonstrates no outward symptoms to indicate they are either carrying the disease or contagious?

What is not understood on the part of yourself and others, is that even if an individual receives a vaccine for a particular disease, it is still quite possible for that individual to still carrying a contagious strain of the disease within their body and spread it to anyone they come into contact with. All the vaccination serves to do is make the carrier immune.

Oh then hold them in a medical prison until they are cured. All carriers would be send to medical camps where the would be imprisoned until they get cured 100%

So this is needed, we need to give the federal and state governments the power to go after those who wish to put the public at risk by not believing science and medicine. I bet this would be supported by almost everyone and swiftly pass the state houses.
