OSC Chief Says Conway’s ‘Unprecedented’ Behavior Sets Bad Example

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/special-cousel-hatch-act-kellyanne-conway-unprecedented

"Office of the Special Counsel chief Henry Kerner admitted in an interview with the Washington Post that it was “unprecedented” for his office to recommend that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway be fired.

But the crime warranted the punishment, he insisted."

What's another ethical/legal violation for these guys........right? This admin breaks the law in their sleep.

I don't expect Individual 1 to do the right thing here. He never does. Lawbreakers are encouraged in this WH.

Perhaps if Kellyanne resigns she can go back to sleeping in the same bed as her hubby.

The OSC report states that “If Ms. Conway were any other federal employee, her multiple violations of the law would almost certainly result in removal from her federal position by the Merit Systems Protection Board.”

“Her actions erode the principal foundation of our democratic system – the rule of law,” a letter prefacing the report reads.

We all know this wont happen sadly. If there is one thing the present administration is good at, its ignoring ethics.

It was very telling that one of the very first things the Republicans tried to do after gaining power, was to eliminate the house ethics committee.

It gives Don a warm and fuzzy feeling to be surrounded by people who disregard the law.

The Orange Turd loves to call people "horrible." Sister Sarah fits that description like a glove.

Makes sense. After all, when one is a breaker of the law themselves, it only makes sense they would surround themselves with criminals.

If people REALLY wanted Hilary to go to jail, they should have told Don to make her a member of his administration.

We all know it won't happen because the request is politically motivated horse crap based on a law of at best dubious constitutionality.

Are you sure it was unprecedented?

    Remember ‘No Controlling Legal Authority’?
    By Andrew C. McCarthy

    August 26, 2009 8:00 AM

The CIA probe shows once more that the law does not control this attorney general.
It was a dozen years ago when Eric Holder began his first tour of duty at the Justice Department, as deputy attorney general. At the time, DOJ had a major hot potato on its hands: Al Gore, the vice president of the United States, had engaged in a clear, black-and-white felony violation of campaign-finance laws.

Gore made phone calls soliciting campaign contributions from his White House office. As Charles Krauthammer wrote at the time, “Section 607 of Title 18 of the U.S. Criminal Code states very clearly there is to be no solicitation of campaign funds in federal government offices. Gore broke the law as written, as understood and as practiced.” Violations of Section 607 called for a penalty of up to three years in prison.

    https://www.nationalreview.com/2009/08/remember-no-controlling-legal-authority-andrew-c-mccarthy/

Gore caught making fund raising calls from the West Wing?

..........because no one in this admin has respect for the law. A tone set from the top.

It's not like this is a close call. Kellyanne has repeatedly, egregiously, broken the law. She has flaunted her law breaking..........since she knows Trump violates his oath every day and her lawless behavior will be no exception.

The law in question has been broken at one time or the other by various spokes people for various presidential candidates for years and should have been thrown out decades ago for the egregious violation of free speech that it is. All this is about is thin skinned leftist politicians hating the idea the females can not only be conservatives but call them on their egregious hypocrisy as well.

You should do some research on the oranges......sorry.....origins of the Hatch Act because your ignorance of the motivation for putting it on the books is appalling.

You should do some research on the first amendment. I don't recall there being an exception there for people employed by the president.

Not surprisingly, you have no idea what the Hatch Act was designed to prevent.

Trump Has No Plans To Fire Kellyanne Conway: ‘She’s Been Loyal’

    https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-wont-fire-kellyanne-conway
    ..............................................................................
She's been loyal to me...........the only criteria that matters to Don............so to hell with the law.

It serves as a metaphor for his entire presidency. Personal interest before country.

More lawlessness by this admin. The recommendation came from A TRUMP APPOINTEE.

In an interview, Special Counsel Henry Kerner called his recommendation that a political appointee of Conway’s stature be fired “unprecedented.”

“You know what else is unprecedented?” said Kerner, a Trump appointee who has run the agency since December 2017. “Kellyanne Conway’s behavior.”

Deciding which laws to obey and which not to is what authoritarian regimes do.

They called her the “Church Lady” in the White House.

I don’t have anything against her, actually,

She played a part. She was the stereotypical midwestern evangelical, down to her dowdy looks, Bon Ton wardrobe and flat midwestern accent.

Her job was to put lipstick on her pig of a boss, and stand there with a straight face and say the ridiculous, the absurd and the false.

But then, every press secretary has to do a certain amount of that.
