It doesn't need to affect statutory rates to be considered a "tax cut". Obama authorized a third of the spending of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 to be in the form of tax credits, which significantly helped lower income individuals.

Sorry but we were talking about the Trump tax cuts. Try to follow. And by the way tax credits are not tax cuts.

They were tax cuts in 2009; I don't see how they're not tax cuts today. A tax credit is a deduction in the amount of taxes that one owes. How is that not a tax cut?

A tax cut is a cut in taxes. A handout is a handout. You still have not
come up with any evidence that the Trump tax cuts have cut the taxes for the poor which was the original discussion. If you don't pay any taxes your taxes cannot be cut.

If you already owed no taxes a tax credit doesn't cut your taxes. Is that really too hard to understand?

Tax credits only allow one to deduct their tax liability. Nothing is being "handed out."

False. Individuals and corporations (which are also treated as individuals) who receive a benefit (from a tax credit or otherwise) are receiving a tax cut. Your statutory rate may be zero but adjusted for any deductions and tax credits; your effective tax rate is negative. As a result, you'll receive money from the government.

In from 2002 - 2005, the lowest and second quintile earners paid a negative effective rate.

    Hopefully, you've learned something today.

Aren't you supposed to be an adult? Imagine being one and not understanding the difference between an effective rate and a statutory rate, or that tax credits exist.

You guys are missing the biggest reason for the tax cuts. Millions of the poor made out because of them. Not in tax cuts they got, but in the new jobs they now have that lifted them out of poverty. The major reason for the tax and regulation cuts was to make America more competitive to nations around the world that pay less and have lower taxes. That's just what Trump's tax and regulation cuts did. It brought back millions of jobs. It's brought back manufacturing jobs Obama and economists said were gone and not coming back. There must be hundreds of thousands of people that have moved up the economic ladder to middle class. Those tax cuts weren't just crumbs from the table the Democrats are trying to feed you. It is bringing America's economy back from a service and part time economy under Obama and Democrat's policies, to a thriving diversified economy.

"Over 5.8 million individuals have discontinued their participation in America’s food stamp program since President Donald Trump’s first full month in office, according to the latest U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) data."

Prices are beginning to increase. Perhaps you should hold off on extolling the virtues of KnowZips...

Suggest you note the last six month and compares prices to the six months before that.

Moonglow let me run this by you-would you as a senior, be willing to do something like working with school kids, in schools. Where you spend time directly with kids covering reading, math, etc, or at public libraries.

Did you come up with this all by your lonesome?

I rather doubt either one would be smiling when things screwed up. More likely, they would be blaming someone or something else.

In the long run, almost all firms either pass along the prices or at least attempt to pass them along.
