Different country with different set of problems, that’s for sure. Their corruption is definitely more up front than the rampant corruption here. I love Mexico and especially Mexicans. I am glad it’s right next door. I have been enjoying it for most of my life. I was once a right fielder for the Rosorito Langosteros and surfed most of the Baja coast. Viva Mexico!!!!

 

California American culture originated with Mexican and Spanish settlement. It is interwoven into our state and a big part of it. Europeans like myself came later and blended in nicely except for a growing population of ignorant redneck types who have been streaming in from the flatlands. However, fortunately we’ve been able to keep them from turning it into where they came from.

 

What you seem to be saying that the fact Indians did it to each other and you are indifferent to that. I make no excuse for any atrocities. It is the nature of mankind and I understand that. All races have the problem but you, it seems, want to make it a race thang. All liberals do and they think they are on a roll heading up to 2020. Wrong!

 

All of mankind falls short. We do have corruption in America. I have known some really fine workers tenants and neighbors from Mexico. It breaks my heart they live under such corruption. I only wish they could grasp the "spirit of 1776" or something similar. I don't think it has assimilated into their culture to throw off tyrants, understand human nature and install a government that respects liberty first and foremost. Heck.....we have a hard time keeping ours while we have the four sisters wanting to tear it down.

Mexican Nationals and Mexican Americans have fought and died for this country for well over a century. While Donald Trump and other chicken hawks were faking injuries thousands of Mexicans and Mexican Americans died in Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, WW 1, WW2..

And that European culture dominated American culture. You can go to the border areas now and see how the culture is changing to an extension of MEXICAN culture.

 

I was in San Diego yesterday. Nice blend of Mexican and Euro American culture there. That’s one of the many things that make California the greatest US State by far. Now when you cross into Mexico from California down the coast there is what is known as “The Mexican Riviera”. What used to be rickety roads with small farms and ranches is now nice beach towns. Baja Malibu, Baja Mar, nice seaside homes and condos with Cantinas and pristine beaches. All the way from Tiajuana to Ensanada and beyond. The blending of the cultures has been great for both countries.

 

So what?

America is a blending of cultures, and they evolve.

I suppose Trump would tell you if you don't like that, you should go back to Europe or whatever lousy place you are from.

Republicans are very intimidated by California to the point of obsession. Fear of the sheer number of Californians and obvious influence the Golden State has on the nation, these Republicans can only vilify in panic/ dread. On the other hand, Californians are not in the least fearful of places where Republican hold the majority. States like North Dakota/ Kansas/ Mississippi/ South Carolina receive scant attention other than when the California legislature declares boycotts on travel to those states. But nobody here vacations in Nebraska/ Oklahoma/ Arkansas anyway. Flyover Republican strongholds frankly have little if any appeal.

 

People come here and adopt American culture and assimilate into American culture. Our southern borders are being turned into an extension of Mexico with Mexican culture, why is that good for America and American culture. It is the culture that holds countries together, huge rifts in culture only creates divides.
