    We indeed do have more strict immigration policy, the Indian and Pacific oceans are our wall.

    Wanting a border doesn't mean you hate anyone anymore than wanting a fence around your property means you hate your neighbors.

    The Timor Sea is rather treacherous.

    The US's biggest problem is the perception that you will get in and be protected and nationalised by Democrats if you illegally enter. The Coalition resolved this issue and it has been politically untouchable, even for labor, ever since.

    We have no anchor babies. As the family of Sri Lankan illegals shows - you don't get citizenship because you popped out of your mother's vijayjay here.

    Yep but so are deserts and mountains making up most of the US border. On the other hand we do not have a “green card” system so once you get a job here it is possible to just blend in if no one looks too hard

    Mexicans live within 50m of Americans at some points on their border. This is different to our arrangement.

    Also, as I pointed out, we started turning back the boats and making is abundantly clear that if you come you won't get in. If you plop out a baby on our soil it won't get citizenship.

    People are therefore less willing to come than the US, where Democrats are actively aiding and abetting illegals and they know it.

    Labor by contrast has been pounded into submission on this issue by the elecorate and can never really do anything like that. They can't talk big because they will simply lose the election.

    It is truly incredible that we have a left wing party that is arguably to the right of the GOP on immigration policy. Kudos on us for holding our pollies to account.

    There is much the US can learn from us on this issue.

    And remember where he got the money. Not from congress, not thru actual process, he unilaterally took money from the military. If Hillary took money from the Military unilaterally without consent of congress the right wing in this country would be in the streets with blood in their eyes and torches in their hands yelling that she was a “DICTATOR”

    So when the next president is elected, and they cut the military budgets, you get to sit down and shut up about it because you just showed that its OK to take from the Military

    Who gives a hell about the wall? Build that ****er, who cares. Ain't gonna magically stop the drugs from coming in as y'all believe. Go for it.

    I myself fund it a massive waste of money that can be used to fix our roads and bridges in our Country. But I understand, Trump promised all his supporters that he would protect them and help them not live in fear anymore from scary brown people.
