Clinton dodged the draft (he had the nerve to whine that he hated the military). Gore got a cushy job in the military operating a smokin' hot typewriter. W flew dangerous F-102s in the ANG, and Obama smoked reefer instead of serving.

What matters is how the candidate will treat the military, and after seeing Obama use it as a social experiment and disposable napkin for 8 years, Real Americans wanted a president who would restore the military and be respectful to the service members. We knew Hillary wouldn't do that, she's got a rep for treating underlings like slaves (Democrat, so no big surprise).

    The ignorance...

The eagerness of clueless Chicken Little gun-grabbers to embarrass themselves never ceases to amaze and amuse...

I’m actually quite thankful for the ignorant comments. It’s a valuable lesson for everyone watching that the foundation of anti gun dogma is authoritarianism, not concern for the well-being of their fellow man as they claim.

Armed federal agents coming to your door in the predawn hours to confiscate a legally purchased weapon is not a threat????

You must like jackbooted Gestapo Fascist government thugs.

Neither ! I was addressing the stupidity of what the two said therefore no unconstitutional act has been committed by either jerk . Why? Stupid speech it protected by the Constitution. If there comes a time when a certain class of weapon is threatened with confiscation by the government I would say that this court now would rule 5 to 4 that banning certain types of weapons is unconstitutional. I could be wrong I was wrong once.

Yes, I doubt that would work in Venezuela today.

Isn't it ironic that when O'Rouke felt threatened, he called on the folks at the FBI with their guns for protection?

LOL, you wouldn't want to support someone who created the lowest unemployment in 50 years, would you? Or do Dems simply vote for a living?

Why does the LW think gun bans would work better than prohibition? If it's really about saving lives maybe we should bring back laws against homosexuality, they have killed each other by the million with STDs.

Clinton was a college student at the time, and therefore qualified for a deferment, as did hundreds of thousands of college students. Those exceptions are there for a reason.

As for Gore, someone has to type things up, even in the Marines. I can't fault the guy for that.

W was trained to fly F-102's, but by all accounts was a mediocre pilot who eventually lost his pilot status and went AWOL.

Obama turned 18 in 1979, when there were no significant military campaigns going on, and nothing would be for more than a decade, so who cares whether or not he chose to serve. Peacetime in the military results in a lot of manicured lawns and painted rocks.

Clinton lied to Colonel Holmes, of the University of Arkansas ROTC department, promising that he would enter ROTC at the University of Arkansas. Instead he skedaddled off rather than keep a promise (no surprise there). In the letter where he explains his lack of decency, he has the nerve to whine that he hated the Vietnam war and the military, but he didn't have the guts to become a conscientious objector because he wanted to leave his options open for politics in the Democrat party.

Lucky that dad, a segregationist, was a US senator, hmm?

The AWOL nonsense is just that: unsubstantiated nonsense. I'll be happy to go over it with you, but for now, let's address the calumny that he was a mediocre pilot. Bush flew the F-102 Delta Dagger:

the F-102 was still far more dangerous to fly than today's combat aircraft. Compared to the F-102's lifetime accident rate of 13.69, today's planes generally average around 4 mishaps per 100,000 hours. For example, compare the F-16 at 4.14, the F-15 at 2.47, the F-117 at 4.07, the S-3 at 2.6, and the F-18 at 4.9. Even the Marine Corps' AV-8B, regarded as the most dangerous aircraft in US service today, has a lifetime accident rate of only 11.44 mishaps per 100,000 flight hours. The F-102 claimed the lives of many pilots, including a number stationed at Ellington during Bush's tenure. Of the 875 F-102A production models that entered service, 259 were lost in accidents that killed 70 Air Force and ANG pilots.

Mediocre pilots didn't survive flying the F-102!

So? I didn't say he was a draft dodger, just that he was a pothead with the nickname "Choomer" because he could blow lots of smoke (foreshadowing!).

    Because...?
AFAIK, it makes about as much sense to call Elbridge Gerry a Democrat as it does to call George Washington a Republican.

Sounds more like paranoia to me. Cops may not have to protect you but for some strange reason, they do.

Look, we all gotta die someday, when it's your time, no matter how much armament you have, it's over like it or not. Accept it, I have and life's not too bad.

That got me thinking about non-lethal weapons.

We could stick 5 SJW's in a box near the enemy, and throw in an autographed Trump photo.

The "RRREEEEE" would make a fine sonic weapon.

No. The classic, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few," argument.
It's called a compromise. It's what happens in a civilized society.
