That would be in excess of 80 million would it not? Estimates for Mao's body count alone varies drastically. I've seen seen estimates in excess of 100 million for Mao alone.

Trump has criticized Turkey. If that is what you wanted - it's been done.

The last major religious war in the west was the Thirty Years War. Compared to either WWI or II, both fought for purely secular reasons, It was just a minor fracas.

Trump clean house ? He’s already proven to be an inept dufus in everything he’s tried to do. Lie a minute igniramous couldn’t even get his funding for a stupid wall with full Republican control of Congress.....he’s had to steal it from the military and NOTHING has been built yet. He’s a treason minded criminal.
He’s done nothing but set a world record for deficit spending and set the stage for another recession.

Oh, because you aren’t a Republican, the other 2/3 of his support who are, don’t count. That argument sounds as lame as one of Trumps make believe gimmicks to keep his lemmings in line.

I am 100% behind Trump on this. We don't belong in a syrian civil war, we don't belong in Iraq, libya or anyplace else where the people who are fighting are not fighting us. All this terrorism towards us from these people are due to our own actions. We overthrew a legit elected government in Iran and then propped up a brutal dictator in the Shah. We invaded a country in Iraq when they wanted to take over a neighboring kingdom, no a democracy but a kingdom. So we overthrew Saddam whose secular government would kill these Muslim extremest and rape thier wives if they ever acted out. The we did the same to Quadafii after convincing him to stop building nukes, then we said hell we screwed two countries into becoming havens for terrorists lets go for three and help overthrow Assad family who has protected the Christians living there for 40 years.

Now I feel for the kurds, we should offer every kurdish soldier and thier family and opportunity to relocate here.

So we're in NATO with Turkey because...greedy Trump (among others).

Well if that's your point, I guess that's your point.

Our troops are still in Syria, they were just moved to make way for Turkey to plow through so nothing good happened. We did not leave and are still not leaving. Actually something even worse happened. We let an ally illegally invade and kill our friends. It's despicable if you actually support this specific action imo.

The Kurdish soldiers are being annihilated because of the decision your hero made. Where are you from?

Erdogan told the European Union to "come to your senses" on Thursday. "I will say this once again. If you try to label our current operation as an occupation, our job becomes easier, we will open the doors and send the 3.6 million refugees to you."

Turkey's foreign minister says Turkish troops intend to move some 30 kilometers (19 miles) deep into northern Syria and that its operation will last until all "terrorists are neutralized," a reference to Syrian Kurdish fighters.

Turkey's Defense Ministry said Friday that 277 "terrorists" had been killed since the campaign, which Turkey has dubbed "Operation Peace Spring," began on Wednesday.

"Hundreds of thousands of civilians in northern Syria are now in harm's way. Civilians and civilian infrastructure must not be a target," the UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said Thursday.

"Now I feel for the kurds, we should offer every kurdish soldier and thier family and opportunity to relocate here."

Was that meant as a joke?

Trump made a disgraceful military decision, betraying a valuable ally who had eliminated the caliphate and marginalized the ISIS Guerilla force.

NPR reports, "As a military offensive by Turkey into Syria enters its third day, aid agencies are increasingly concerned. An estimated 100,000 civilians in northeastern Syria have been displaced, at least one displaced-persons camp was relocated out of the line of fire, a front-line hospital was abandoned and critical water infrastructure was taken out of commission, according to the United Nations. All of this is exacerbating a humanitarian crisis that was already one of the world's worst.

"On Wednesday, Turkish ground and air forces commenced a series of assaults against a Syrian militia of the Kurdish ethnic group, which had been an American ally in the fight against ISIS but is viewed as a terrorist organization by the Turkish government."

We have not abandoned the Kurds. Nobody greenlighted this operation by Turkey,” secretary of defense, Mark Esper said. His remarks make me want to puke. “We oppose and are greatly disappointed by Turkey’s decision to launch a unilateral military incursion into northern Syria. This operation puts our [Syrian Democratic Forces] partners in harm’s way, it risks the security of [Islamic State] prison camps and will further destabilize the region.” Well, no shyt!

Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, wants to make sure none of our troops get hurt as a result of the military action directly related to Trump's order to retreat.

“The Turkish military is fully aware, down to explicit grid coordinate detail, of the locations of U.S. forces,” Milley said. “Everyone is fully aware that we are the U.S. military we retain the right of self defense.” Gee, really, after betraying an ally. How did this guy make general? A suck-a$$ to Trump?

As a military offensive by Turkey into Syria enters its third day, aid agencies are increasingly concerned.

Recalling that the President is solely responsible for what is happening by ordering a retreat of American forces, Trump's response is beyond comprehension.

“The last thing I want to do is bring thousands and thousands of soldiers in and defeat everybody again,” Trump said when asked about how to handle the situation. “We've already done that.

“So what we have is really two choices: You have the choice of bringing in the military and defeating everybody again, or you have the choice of financially doing some very strong things to Turkey. ... We have a very good relationship with the Kurds. Or we can mediate. I hope we can mediate.

Trump continues to have a problem with reality.

One possible explanation to his reaction to all this? Trump is a sociopath. He sure sounds like one. He simply does not care about the humanitarian crisis he caused and mounting casualties. Last night he went to a political rally in Minneapolis.

Another possible explanation, Trump is serving his mentor, Vladimir Putin.

Both explanations are plausible. I would like to hear from someone who disputes them.

I want us out of there period. Like I said, I would offer any ally that took up arms with us or in our behalf, refuge in the US for them and thier families. But this is not our war. Obama and Clinton got us in there for no good reason and now we are selling arms to SA who are turning around and giving them to Al-queda in Syria to fight against Assad. How does that make any sense?

All we do, is make a mess out of every country we go into to "save". Saddam killed 1000 of his people every year as a brutal dictator. We started a war that killed 500,000 Iraqis, that is 500 years of his brutality and now there is still more killing in Iraq than there was under Saddam but there are also 6 trill spent and 4000 young Americans Dead.

Look what we did in Libya, there were finally coming around to join the rest of the civilized world and now they are back to the 1500s with slave markets and a strong hold for ISIS.

I agree with you completely, but this particular instance of foreign policy is one of the dumbest things I've seen in a while.

First I hate Trump as president, read my signature. I don't want America involved in fighting wars that don't affect our security. I don't want millions of people of people who cut in the immigration line to be here before people like my grandparents who waited 7 years in Portugal and then stayed here for years alone before sending for thier wives. I think China is trying to surpass us as the most powerful country in the world and I don't like giving them 400 bill every year to help them along, so that we can have a $50 cheaper I-phone.

Yes war is hell, I served in Nam, I know war and I hate it. Why did we get involved, what is our purpose there? To overthrow Assad- who then do you think is the next most powerful force in Syria? Al-Queda and ISIS.

The kurds have been at war and under attack in both Syria, Turkey and Iraq for 100 years.
They will be at war for another 100 years. We can not bring peace to these people, they can only bring peace to themselves.
