The dem clown show even references the Andrew Jackson impeachment which is considered by historians how not to do it. Dems are daft.

It's the same process the Republicans used to impeach Clinton (and I think they were right to impeach). I don't think Trump respects the process of Congressional oversight. I think that's a bad thing for the country. The next President may be a Socialist, and I don't want them having the power that Trump is trying to claim the President has. End of story.

Historians agree that Trump is acting against the best interests of the country as well.

Nope. The Clinton investigation lasted a couple of years and when there was a different opinion with the WH the courts were used to settle the difference. The dem clown show shelved their subpoenas and the one in the court for the WH lawyer will be decided in January.

The impeachment is the House vote. The trial in the senate is for removal.

So...are you saying that you agree there should be a nice long trial to examine every bit of evidence and call as many witnesses as necessary, even if it takes months?

What you talking about? The Clinton impeachment in the House took a little under three months. (Dec. 19th 1998 to Feb. 12, 1999.)

He said the investigation. To only focus on the house partvis disengious. The dems have gone much faster in their impeachment efforts than with Clinton. Pretty much skipping over the investigation phase

Which is why there is an obstruction charge in the Impeachment ... Trump has instructed most of the important witnesses not to testify. You can't have an investigation if there is an obstruction of justice preventing the investigation ... sort of a Catch 22 situation.

Different investigation. That was into the Whitewater situation. Clinton was impeached because of the Lewinsky affair.

Clinton was impeached for lying under oath. Pretty clear cut. Nothing like trying to impeach based on hearsay and assumptions.

Article II of the Clinton Impeachment was for obstruction of justice - just as Article II of Trump Impeachment states. Pretty clear cut. Trump has instructed his staff to ignore Congressional Subpoenas. Obstruction of Justice.

Not in this case because the vote in the Senate is a far gone conclusion.
Why waste time. It was worth it in the House because an impeachment will stay an impeachment no matter what the Senate does.

Of course he is acting against the best interest of our country but Trump fans care only for Trump and not the country.

Heh, yes we wouldn't have a long trial and detailed examination of the evidence now would we?

Well I don't think McConnell does, but Trump on the other hand...

While Trump has repeatedly called the House Democrats’ impeachment investigation a “witch hunt,” he also has called for a trial with witnesses testifying.

In a tweet on Dec. 5, he wrote: “We will have Schiff, the Bidens, Pelosi and many more testify.” He was referring to House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, Biden, his son Hunter and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, all Democrats.

Last week, Trump dispatched his top White House lawyers to attend a lunch with Senate Republicans to discuss the possible impeachment trial.

White House legislative liaison Eric Ueland told reporters after that meeting that in order for Trump to make an effective case to the Senate, “We need both a full trial and the opportunity to call witnesses,” pointing to the Senate chamber.

So you think that means they’ll release the docs and allow people to testify?

The IG report established that Brennan commited perjury when he told the House the dossier had no part in things, the report said it was central.
