What is wrong with "slut shaming"?

Wow...just wow.

I don't think I know ANYONE who has only has sex with their spouse

 

Statistically, there are more humans who've only had sex with one person, than there are humans who've had sex with multiple people. In fact, there are far more people who've never had sex at all, than the average naive Westerner could imagine.

 

I rest my case, as regards isolation and naivety (my bold).

 

Leftists support Identity Politics and discrimination. Leftists oppose Free Speech. They are Totalitarian. Much worse then Authoritarian Right.

How sad. I’ve known couples who go for years without sex, especially as they get older. How sad an existence that must be. But just because others don’t partake does not mean that I shouldn’t either. I’m sure plenty of sex contributes to a happy and healthy existence. I plan to continue heathy and happy.

 

Being one who tends to lean left on most issues, I find your descriptions of “leftist” to be so outside of reality so as to be an insult. It sounds ignorant in the extreme and makes your character sound so despicable as to be worthless of paying attention to, except with contempt.

 

Much sadder to imagine everyone is saddened by the same things you are. Your lack of exposure to different people and different cultures is wildly apparent in this comment (my bold).

Same reason they won't stop flying (in jets), driving their multiple cars, running their ducted aircon, buying imported foods, buying fashion, etc etc etc ... while simultaneously attending Climate Emergency protests.

 

You do understand that there is more to a relationship then just sex, right? If medical issues arise that make physical sex unpleasant or just flat out unable, what do you think should happen? Divorce? Execution?

I'll guess I'm a bit older than you, where understanding of what a relationship between two adults really is, and that physical sex is only a small part of it.

 

A lot of it is also cultural. Few cultures insist on lifetime sex.

Doesn’t matter. The fact that others do not, don’t want to, or can’t have sex on a regular basis should in no way prevent me from having an enjoyable sex life. And of corse there is more to it than just the sexual act. Why do ya’ all think in such terms? If I and my girlfriend enjoy having sex with each other on a regular basis, the enjoyment of that bonds us ever closer together. The are 24 hours in a day. There is plenty of time to talk and flirt and live a life together. Without romance and sex, your wife is just your friend, not your lover.

I was wondering the same thing. I guess I had assumed @ImNotOliver was middle aged, but your post reminded me that almost every post he's made in this thread has been about him, as if "he" were a teenage girl, posting her deep thoughts on relationships on instagram.

Most of the threads on this forum are not personal, and this wasn't supposed to be, but he certainly seems to think this is all about him.

Exactly. That, plus the weird notion that if sex isn't frequent and volcanic, your marriage (and probably life) is over. Only the very young think in those terms. A result of only recently having discovered sex, most likely.

There's also the terribly insular notion that Western attitudes to sex are universal. No one who's lived elsewhere, or lived long enough to have mixed with different cultures, believes that.

I also oppose the Authoritarian Right on many issues:

1) I oppose guns -- they have taken 572,000 lives in USA 1999-2016.
2) I support Welfare State -- Scandinavia and Canada are much more humane then USA.
3) I oppose White Nationalism -- I am Jewish.

But Many Leftists stand for:

1) Identity Politics.
2) Suppression of Free Speech.
3) Presumption of Guilt.

 

On Economic Issues their policies are good. But in other ways Leftists violate Human Rights.

 

The thing with STDs is the spread of it. Notifying past sexual partners is important. What if a woman's doc notices she doesn't care or doesn't even know how many men she's even been with? That isn't "reporting" it's educating.

 

Shaming is what they did years ago in our grandparent's day and no I don't think it works. Think of the people thrown in mental wards back then. If doctors didn't understand something they locked "it" away. It was done at great expense to people who didnt deserve it.

Well, it usually doesn't work and if anything makes a person more apt to do whatever.
It's healthy to test boundaries, we'd be in a sorry state if humans never tried to move beyond the norms.
Btw, true shamers are rarely right.

Slut Shaming . there are some risky behaviors with being slutty. Reminds me of the time these 2 Portland skanks after claiming to be shamed started really insulting this guy who only had some warnings about what he had seen recently. Potentially dangerous for them.
He didn't shame them at all. They just used it to shame him and garner more attention.

 

Actually you have to be very imperfect to judge others.
