The dems single biggest enemy is Consumer confidence. Right now it is high - about as high as its been this century. What I could find during my admittedly brief research is that change elections just don't happen if consumer confidence is high. Bernie will lose big to Trump because he is campaigning not only on upsetting the apple carter but reducing it to ashes afterwards. Unless CCI falls off a cliff no one is voting for that sort of change except the malcontents and there aren't enough of them. Except in California where the Democrats are still getting away with masquerading as the cure for the problems they've created. Conversely Biden has a chance almost entirely because he isn't seen as some one who will upset the apple cart. Interestingly enough the further he has to go left to win the Dem nomination the less chance he has of winning in November.
The Republicans' single biggest enemy is fraud in big blue cities in states Trump won. Lulled by their own polls and pundits, they didn't bother with much of it in 2016, then it was too late. They have had three years, though, to prepare massive fraud in key cities in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, North Carolina, etc. It will happen. Will it be enough to unseat Trump? Stay tuned.
So in your mind, any Trump loss can only be accounted for by voter fraud? Really? Isn't that a Russian troll position - to delegitimize the US vote?
I started to type "no," but then thought a bit. Yes, unless something changes drastically in the economy, the impeachment proceedings, war, etc., the only way the Democrats can win POTUS in the 2020 election is massive fraud. I have never seen a worse crop of candidates in any party in my life, and the Democrats are beginning to freely acknowledge this themselves to the point of talk of Hillary or Michelle Obama. But take heart, the Democrat capacity for fraud is massive and practiced, and despite all their front-runners being utter buffoons, there is a reasonably high chance to unseat your hated Trump. Not 50/50, but not far off. As far as what is a Russian troll position, who cares? I certainly don't, there are so few of them after all and they have almost -0- impact on U.S. politics. You'd do far better calling my opinion an Israeli, China or Euro troll POV, those are at least REAL and numerous compared to muhrussia fabrications.
But if the electoral system is so fraudulent, then not even Trump can claim a democratic basis for his rule. rule.
No, the system itself is not fraudulent, big blue city public union-run Democrats in states Trump won are. Look for all manner of malarkey in Philadelphia, Madison, Detroit, Miami, etc. They thought 2016 was a shoo in, so didn't really ramp it up. 2020 will be much different.
When Democrats say things like... "russian trolls interfering in our elections" What they mean is... foreign nationals posting memes on Facebook they don't like. If neo-communist come to power, they will use "election interference/Facebook ads Democrats don't like" as a reason to take control of the Internet and impose Chinese Democrat style censorship on Americans. Just like how Democrats deny being for open borders or deny wanting to take your guns, they will also deny wanting massive government censorship of the internet till the day they pass it.
You must be very young people have been complaining of the dead voting in our major cities has been going on since the days of Boss Tweed and Tammany Hall. You know of Boss Tweed? The guy that said you can hold all the elections you want as long as me and my cronies always get to count the votes.
people can talk about all these other issues enviroment , health care, education all blah blah blah.. All people really care about is the economy.. if they can feed their families they are happy.
Trump was elected in accordance with the Constitution. Democrats say they have impeach Trump because it is their Constitutional duty, but they don't want elections to be held in accordance with the Constitution. Apparently, for the democrats, the Constitution is a document that you can pick and choose which part to follow.
When neo-communist say they are doing something to save the constitution you know they are lying. I remember when democrats used to say the Constitution is a living breathing document they can meld to whatever they want it to mean.
Depends on who the Dems run against him. Biden has a chance if he doesn't drop dead on the campaign trail, and doesn't have to run so far left to get the nomination that he becomes indistinguishable from Bernie. Bernie isn't beating anyone. If you think Your two gillionaires are going to support a Bernie campaign knowing that he plans on blowing up their portfolios among other things you're kidding. The only reason those two ass wipes are in the race is because Bernie scarce the shot out of them and they aren't sure Biden's got enough left on the ball to get the job done.
There is no question that voters decide on recency bias and feelings, rather than on data. Here is what the data shows: Conclusion: Consumer confidence rises throughout an expansion, until the recession hits and it drops. Consumer confidence was also high in 1999 and 2007. Then, what happened? All that consumer confidence is doing right now is making people spend money they don't have, putting the balance on the credit card. This is just setting us up for the next debt based recession. When that happens, Trump has made sure he looted the public coffers, leaving us with > $1 trillion deficits, which then will skyrocket in the recession, with little ability of the government to compensate for contraction of private spending. When that happens, watch the GOP call for austerity, making the boom and bust GOP whiplash economics complete.
garyd, any of the Dems will beat Trump. Q N, the GOP has been trying to loot the treasury for business and the MIL. Your analysis is spot on.
In California they sure will but CA is only 55 Electoral votes.. Businesses produce jobs. That's a good thing. Blue collar wages are rising faster than in the last 2 decades.
Forgot a factor of 1000, didn't you? I am sure you'd be so cavalier on $1 trillion of debt with a Dem in office.
Yeah I did, mind now fully engaged, again since WWII every congress had added more debt than it's predecessor. Since Gerald Ford vetoed a massive pork ladened spending bill back in the early seventies, congress has opted to mostly take the presidential veto out of play by sending massive spending measures for all 46 departments at once to the presidency. Before that they sent it through a department at a time. In my opinion the change wrought by Democrats in the 70's has proven to be a disaster. There is not now nor has there ever been any real pressure on DC to restrain spending. In fact almost all the pressure runs in the other direction. In the end we simply can't afford all the government we'd like. Complaining about congress under Trump continuing the bad habits of it's predecessors is simply partisan hackery or a failure to understand reality.
