    I actually met Kobe in an airport about a decade ago, he seemed pretty nice to me. Damn, the guy was tall - he stood out in the crowd there. At least he went quick. If you gotta go - and we all will - that's the way you wanna go.

    I dont pay heed to sports but respected him immensely. He used his celebrity for positive impact and had great plans for his next chapter. He seemed to adore his kids.

    I'm with you on this. I have never cared for the sport of basketball, but I would never want anyone to die like this. I do truly regret that this happened to everyone who was killed in this crash.

    I've heard he travelled by helicopter a lot. I hate helicopters as theres little that can be done when any failure occurs. Planes at least can glide and try to crashland somewhere (as long as the wings stay on)... helicopters just plummet.

    I'm sure Cobe knew that, flying in them all the time. RIP.

    Helicopters are slightly more likely to crash, but have a significantly lower chance of death mainly due to auto rotation.

    ~ Most aircraft crash due to pilot error. Could have been out of fuel . I too wonder why an autorotation landing was not attempted ...
