Well that aint true. Obama's plan was repaying the debt. We can all see the graphs. Trump's plan is not repaying for anything. And now he made a whole new plan without explaining his previous disaster. He needs to explain himself.

They eventually pay for themselves because of the resultant economic growth. Nobody has ever claimed that they pay for themselves immediately. Now that the trade agreements are moving forward and the Fed has backed off raising rates for no reason that increased growth will manifest. Quantitative tightening and the Corona Virus scare will be drag chutes.

 

So would Trump but that cannot happen without a majority in the House and 60 votes in the Senate.

well you can disagree with how the money is spent but congress sent that money to the DOD to be spent. and as head of the DOD Trump to an extent can spend the money how he wants.. the money is still spent and added to the deficit either way.
