Is overriding Congress with the threat of using your pen and phone - because you're in the highest office of power - the sign of a dictator?
My cabinet has been working very hard on trying to get it done, but ultimately, I think somebody said the other day, I am president, I am not king,” Obama told Univision in October 2010, when asked why he had yet to achieve comprehensive immigration reform. Yet he did it anyways.
You are not making sense - These things exist in many other first world nations - and no - we don't call them "Totalitarian States". You are confusing Gov't regulation - which we have always had to some degree - with totalitarianism - State ownership of all resources and means of production - control of the media - dictatorship. There is a whole lot in between anarchy and Soviet Style Totalitarianism = couching things at the extreme (when they are not at that extreme) is not helpful. Trump is a bigger socialist than Sanders and more totalitarian.
Totalitarian means relating to a government where the ruler or ruling group has complete control. An example of totalitarian used as an adjective is in the phrase "totalitarian regime" which means a rule where the ruler has total authority over everyone.
Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy. How so?
A large swath of independents are Anti Establishment - hence the term "Anti Establishment" - folks who do not like either Red or Blue. This movement was a big factor in the last election - on both sides of the fence. Those on the Blue side were the Bernie supporters. Many independents will be voting for Bernie.
It is mindless gibberish to accuse someone of "Projection" but not state what was being projected. By the above definition - Sanders is not totalitarian - which was my point
No you accused the poster of it.. He is flipping it to you... So no you missed his and your own points... Hard to duo but kudos?
And doubling the minimum wage will probably throw the new minimum wage workers into the "wealthy" bracket. So much for making more money then, while we buy college and healthcare for everyone else. Wow, what a dream. I mean, what's NOT to love? I like LabourofLove's idea. Let those who want socialism create their own state of socialism and live the dream while the rest of us continue with our normal lives and providing for ourselves and our families. Hollywood loves Bernie, as does the music industry and major sports. Those are the big money makers, they can foot the bills for the socialist Utopia.
Wealth redistribution is the rock on which Socialism exists - the idea being to pool some or all of the wealth of the collective into a centralized pot -and then redistribute it - presumably for the good of the collective. Trump is a raging socialist - spending that pooled money like a princess with a credit card. He is spending even more than what is in the pot - accumulating massive debt - a debt which the collective is responsible for paying.
And the poster will continue to avoid the question as he points his finger at Trump to say Trump is being a dictator and tell us how bad that is for America. The failures of their party never end.
Its simple.. He "Abused power" and by going around congress he "Obstructed Congress" but its fine because it fits the agenda
Speaking of is Bloomberg saying he will have $15 min wage day one bypassing Congress completely a sign of a "Dictator"?
It was in response to your post. It should've been self explanatory. Socialism is handing over control to the government which in turn is totalitarian. No wonder you guys overlook who the real dictators and socialists and totalitarians are. You're right in the thick of them pointing your fingers at the people that don't think like you.
There is definitely something to be said for the passion that young voters feel for Bernie Sanders. He is dominating that particular age range of the Democratic Voters thus far and it'd be really interesting to see how their passion would balance against some of the older voters who might be less enthused or willing to vote in a general election where he is the top of the ticket.
Not the white ones. The other ones though... The media isnt controlled by the government? Could have fooled me. If not THE federal governmentz it certainly is controlled and forced to give a hand written narrative. Weve seen it in the coverage from Obama's tenure to Trumps. Youre an idiot or a liar to pretend like it doesnt exist. There are dozens upon dozens of state run something or other. There should be enough to count on one hand. And the step from white people socialism to totalitarianism is a little hop across that thin line. Easily attainable depending on who is in office. Not that extreme to you, maybe. I like living my own life free from government interference. In fact, most people should be able to go about their lives without ever thinking of the federal government. That's how it should be. Unfortunately, too many people have realized it's easier to not do **** and exist then it is to have to work for stuff. The left should take alllllll of that money people are trying to so hard to give to their government, and give it to those people who simply exist. How long do you think people would keep giving to that program? Not long would be my guess. Why? Probably because they'll see how that money is wasted and who it goes to and realize it's a losing endeavor
Some will, but anti-establishment doesn't vote for bigger establishment. Those with strong socialist beliefs can find like-minded people and pull resources without forcing it on others. Why don't they?
Let me ask you a question. What exactly do you think is going to happen if the "wealthy" get a huge tax put on them? Do you think business will go on as usual or do you think they'll increase their prices to make up for the tax increase? What's the point of raising taxes, therefore raising the cost of goods to make up for lost revenue, if you make more and pay more just to come out the same or worse at the end of the day? HOORAY!!!! I make $15 an hour now! And my grocery cost just went from $50.00 to $100.00. Now you're right back in the same boat you started in. That's not exactly how common sense works. Surely nobody is dumb enough to think business owners aren't going to make up for the cost they're losing. They'll have prices increased overnight. You don't become a business owner by giving product away and losing revenue. The Bossier Parish School Board just tried to impose a 15% property tax increase on us so 1,200 teachers could have a raise. We knew exactly what that meant, the tax increase was voted 75% against. When you LOWER taxes, businesses can afford to give pay raises and/or lower the cost of their products. That's how America wins.
