China hints at denying Americans life-saving coronavirus drugs

Well if nothing else this Corona hysteria is teaching America exactly what Trump has been preaching since elected. We are far to reliant on China and need to bring jobs home for national security.

You can't be friends with communists.

Countries can never really be friends, we just use eachother while it is mutually convenient. Our relationship with them is coming to an end, i for one don't think that's a bad thing.

 

Nixon’s opening up trade relations with China had the best of intentions but as the saying goes it ended up being the road to hell. It’s time to rethink and revamp our China policy.

 

I don't think there is anything wrong with trading with China, the problem is we taught them everything we know and pushed ourselves out of so many manufacturing markets.

 

Not surprising since they blamed the US Army for the virus being released in China. Of course that is at least their third version of where the virus originated. First it was a person in the Wuhan open market. Then it was people eating skunks. Now, it is a US transport plane visited Wuhan, and released vials of covid-19.

its conspiracy, we have our own one too so.. just show there is people like that everywhere.

 

Opening trade relations with China was supposed to change them, supposed to nudge them to freedom and democracy as they were exposed to western culture. That didn’t happen but what did happen is they took our jobs and we are reliant on them for everything from pharmaceuticals to phones and if our relationship with them changed anyone’s culture it’s ours and it’s for the worse. China is our enemy and we need to wake up to that fact before it’s too late.

 

80% of the building blocks, or components, of pharmaceuticals "assembled" in the USA come from China. So the fact is that China indeed could cut the USA off from these building blocks at will, at any time they please, and with the USA having no present capacity to manufacture these components, US citizens will die or grow sicker from ALL kinds of diseases.

China can do it cheaper, but with this latest Chinese threat it is time to bring this pharmaceutical manufacturing, and all manufacturing, but immediately anything related to healthcare and defense, back to the US. Once all healthcare and defense manufacturing are back, then start bringing back ALL MANUFACTURING.

Stamp out globalism and send it straight to Hell in flames.

 

No surprises here. China is and has been for a long time attempting to usurp America as the worlds major power. John Gotti was also benevolent to those he chose to influence.

 

well consider a lot farmer and business benefit from raising income in china when trading with china, you might want talk to them about not trading with one of the largest customer of theirs.
one of my dad friend who work at GM, told him after Fed bill out GM, GM had to find additional business elsewhere, and that elsewhere was china. GM earn huge profit in china, and later use some of those profit to buy back their stock from the Fed and to keep parts of R&D going. Now they sold more auto in china than in US. so you could imagine devastation it will cause to GM/boeing/ge and other business if they lost that market. it is estimate Boeing will lose 50-200k employee if they lose china market.
so yea stop trading will hurt both, not just them.

Maybe if we're lucky the Chinese will send some aid to us. We're going the same path as Italy and Trump's response is more travel bans. You’d have to ask the Chinese official about that. Maybe they think they are on the verge of having one. As it is they hold lots of power with the drugs they do manufacture.
