Usually the first shot is an attention getter then the next 2 are for crowd dispersement and finally the next 4 are for center mass destruction to anything that didn’t adhere to the first two. The distinct loud sound of the 45 is awesome.

Went to one of the 4 Walmarts in my city about 5 hours ago. It was packed and the freezers were about half empty. Thank god they were well stocked with Bud Light.

The lady at the register told me that on Wednesday they had 50% more customers than normal, and yesterday it was 100% more. The media really has people panicking.

If we actually saw the real numbers, the panic would be much worse. Downplaying it verbally and superficially while actively taking it seriously by activating certain protocols like the "National Emergency" is key to keeping the fear in check while keeping the virus in check. The fear can and may be more damaging than the virus.

 

They will be throwing most of that stuff out in a couple of years after they get tired of looking at it.

A lot of these Japanese robot toilets have a blow drier in there, so in theory, no.

Personally I keep a Tickle-me-Elmo by the toilet for drying.

 

The smart ones will draw down their remaining reserves using FIFO and eat those reserves a couple of times a week -- after the national emergency has passed. Maybe take some down to Feed My Sheep.

 

That works if it's something that a person buys on a regular basis. Then there are things that people buy just because it looks like a good idea at the time, like Dinty Moore Stew or spam or pot roast in a can. Nobody wants to eat that for a meal unless they are camping or it's a survival situation.

 

Hey, spam cooked right is delightful. For me I go several years between opportunities to eat spam and until you can't have something you don't know how much you miss it.
While I was in the Peace Corps I developed a craving for a big Mac. When I got home I had one. This was 40 years ago and let's just say I've not had another since. So while absence can make things seem better then they are that doesn't mean that's always the case. Take spam, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Do you know Emeril even has a recipe for spam on his web site? Baked or fried in butter and brown sugar....divine. Now you've got me wanting some and no one coming here from the states for two months. Fink.
