    A point worth noting,
"99% who died from coronavirus in Italy had previous medical conditions: Study"
"A new study found that more than 99% of the deaths from the coronavirus in Italy were individuals who had previous medical conditions.
Italy has had over 2,500 coronavirus deaths along with 30,000 confirmed cases, and
health officials have been looking through the data to find what has contributed to the deaths.
The study showed that nearly 50% of the deaths came from individuals who had three or more previous medical conditions. The other 50% had one or two other previous conditions.
Just three of the fatalities from the data analyzed came from people with no medical history."

I wouldn't count on that. The DNC is still running an open borders campaign here in the U.S. After the virus calms down globally, things are likely to go back to more or less "normal" as far as global travel. Finance and the economy are another matter. The U.S. is spending a trillion dollars on American citizens and industries. We may not have enough capital left to be the main benefactor of foreign aid to as many countries of the rest of the world.

A good note, but something to consider (admittedly without reading the article yet) is that there are a LOT of "underlying conditions."

I consider myself who has no significant heart or lung issues, I wonder if I would qualify simply by virtue of having a food allergy.

That, without more detail, means nothing. I have a medical history. I have had previous medical conditions. Appendix out. Shoulder surgery. Many trips to an orthopedic surgeon following hockey injuries. Strep throat, etc. etc. So would I be one of the 99% with a medical history / previous medical conditions?

I gathered from the volumes of information on the Chinese virus, they all have been referring to respiratory issues. Your mileage may vary.
Perhaps rather than asking me, you would be better off contacting the CDC.

From the reports, lung, heart, liver and kidney all get hit.

The image is 5 days old. The US now has over 8000 cases and has hardly done any testing and the number of deaths has trebled. The US should have the least occurrence out of the major countries because China is on the opposite side of the world yet it is now approaching to be one of the highest

I delved into the study, which is in Italian by the way, so that's annoying. But anyways, here is the list of conditions that they tracked, with the percentages of fatalities that had one of these conditions.

    Ischemic heart disease - 33%
    Atrial fibrillation - 24.5%
    Stroke - 9.6%
    Hypertension - 76.1%
    Diabetes mellitus - 35.5%
    Dementia - 6.8%
    COPD - 13.2%
Active cancer in the past 5 years - 20.3%
    Chronic liver disease - 3.1%
    Chronic renal failure - 18%

Individuals with 0 Conditions - 0.8% (hence the headline)
    Individuals with 1 Condition - 25.1%
    Individuals with 2 Conditions - 25.6%
    Individuals with 3 Conditions - 48.5%

Would anybody object to calling the 2009 H1N1 flu outbreak "the America virus" and/or "the California virus"?

Would you somehow consider it a slander, or would it be more of a "who gives a crap?" issue for you?

It actually started in Mexico, but we're pretending it started in California, because reasons.

As MrTLegal points out, the study says that high blood pressure is one of the pathologies. Cancer active in the last five years is another. There are a lot of people who have at least one of the pathologies listed in the study.

Both names would be inaccurate. That virus originated in Mexico.

On a similar and related note, I was curious about the impacts of asthma and I found this article.

    https://time.com/5802423/coronvirus-asthma-high-risk/

Essentially, they note that while asthma is usually made worse by other respiratory viruses like the flu, the very early preliminary information is that Covid-19 does not show any link between asthma and either catching the virus or getting a worse version of the virus and that the virus has no affect on asthma.

I remember @AmericanNationalist was worried about that question (my wife is the same).

It's already warm down Mexico way. 81 predicted for the high in Mexico City. Mexico has 118 cases of coronavirus and no deaths.

But hell, abandon all hope in the USA! We all gon die before the 4th of July.

Yes. I would object and consider the naming to be improper because it both creates a stigma and it implies a type of blame.

As I expected, a leftist objects on the basis of "feels over reals".

It's amazing the impact of no longer having to argue against so many people who think this virus is not a serious situation.
