See I know you agree with me and just want to argue. There is zero chance you prefer more govt power, especially over a private business.

Rubio is 100% correct. Twitter line stepped and now needs to either reel it back, or take on the responsibilities of a publisher.

I'm sorry.... did you just say "based on who's facts"???

That is the death of your argument on the first page...

Twitter deleted Kathy Griffin's rather suggestive syringe tweet today... Are you pro or con that??

    Careful now.... Hypocrisy watch time....

I was wondering about that when I first heard that Twitter was going to fact check Trump's tweets. Why in the world would they throw away their present position for that of a publisher? It's a stupid business move, but if you hate Trump that much...

I prefer polite discussion. Sometimes government overreach comes through a private company. (IRS for example) I don't twit and don't care if they change their business as long as they don't expect the same protections as a utility.

I just wish the day would come where everything this fat turd says is fully ignored... I know it's hard, especially if it's about you or somebody you know, but just consider the source.. he's wrong about most everything and adds nothing to any real discussion.

I personally haven't watched Trump live on TV for over 18 months now, I don't follow him on Twitter, and I didn't listen to more than 3 minutes of a COVID briefing (I was in the other room... couldn't get to the remote)

I do post SNIPS of his tweets when they back up points I'm trying to make about how moronic he is, but generally only after they've made the rounds...

    Bullies need to be ignored...

Some good points, and I don't like what Twitter is doing, but it doesn't make them a publisher, no.

    Rubio's wrong.

How is it the death of my argument? Fact checking is now in question. https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/inconvenient-facts/201906/how-fact-checking-is-flawed

Insofar as we want a 'fact' to be true, there is very little absolute truths in the world of politics. It's not like the law of gravity. Politics and religion share the uncanny resemblence of subjective statements.

    They're exercising no such role.

In essence, they're tweeting about Trump's tweets.

I don't think they're exercising common sense, and I find them despicable.

But they're still hosts, not publishers.

Better case, as they engage in active censorship and de-platforming there.

They shouldn't have done that, but she's pathetic and repugnant.

    They're not becoming a publisher.

They're just going to - in essence - tweet about Trump's tweets.

Bad idea, but it doesn't change their host status.

I agree with Rubio that Twitter (and Facebook ftm) are conducting themselves more like publishers than message boards, and this may warrant treating them as such legally if they continue to do so.

I agree with you that this is a good case to send to the SC.

And Trump was just "fact checked", and he's equally pathetic and repugnant....

    Double Standard??

I have a feeling that is going to be for a court to decide, but they are not just tweeting about Trump tweets. If @Jack were simply responding to Trump's tweets, that would be one thing, but Twitter hiring a fact checker to "fact check?" That sounds like a different kettle of fish. I have a feeling that goes at least against the spirit of Section 230, if not the actual text.

Twitter and FaceBook are private businesses and not public utilities.

There will be no government regulation of them, but the will regulate the truth of Trump's speech.
