Sen. Tammy Duckworth responds after Tucker Carlson suggests she hates America

You think Democrats, just on the whole, hate America?

 

And of course you just ignored my questions.

 

Pretty much.

The Democrats tolerate AOC, they tolerate Ilhan Omar, they tolerate America-hating, statue-destroying, flag burners of all shapes and sizes. Tolerate it, or even cheer it on.

That's not a love of America. That's not patriotism. It's quite the opposite.

 

Have I ever said anything that would indicate that I don't love America? Do you see me out in the streets burning flags, pulling down statues, or condoning any of that sort of America-hating nonsense?

 

I feel a great deal more confident in the notion that "have a conversation" is a message designed to placate individuals on the left who are still very angry and willing to take extreme positions on statutes. But it is also an acknowledgment of a truth that if the vast majority can agree that some confederate statutes should be removed (and that seems really quite simple to me), then we also need to recognize that even the most traditionally sacred should not be immune from at least review.

Even the founding fathers of our nation, some, had some brutally terrible statements and actions. Some of those people, even in light of those statements and actions, should still be celebrated with monuments because they were willing to sign onto and defend the country during its most vulnerable of days.

As a classic example, George Washington led the army during the revolution and very easily, as President, could have extended the power of the executive to the point of being an effective monarch, but he refused quite admirably. But he also ordered the "total destruction and devaststion" of Iriquoi settlements in New York and he owned slaves.

Is it really a sign that you hate America simply because you think we can and should have a conversation about where to draw the line on celebrating those historical figures?

 

Have you seen ANY such behavior from Tammy Duckworth? Being a member of the Democratic party is not a sign that you hate this country.

I am a Democrat and I respectfully ask that you never imply that I hate my country. It is a significant red line for me.

 

A better American is someone who can recognize and acknowledge the flaws of our country and work to improve upon those flaws.

 

Sure, like recognizing liberal progressivism is a cancer on our society.

 

It is incredibly ****ed up that your first two examples for why Democrats hate their country is the fact that they tolerate two freshman congresswomen, btw.

In other countries it may not be as obvious, but I WATCHED as top dems moved from pretending to be patriotic just after 9/11 to hating Bush before 2004, and obviously far beyond.

Not one held their criticism due to his military service-serving as an military reserve aviator.

Its no secret, that top dems are seen as unpatriotic, and with good reason.

 

By the time Bush Jr. left office, his approval rating was around 29%. So, it wasn't just the left who criticized him and none of them - like I said - claimed that he hated his country.

That is where you keep shifting, implicitly, in your analogy. I wouldn't give a flying **** if Tucker Carlson chose to attack and criticize Tammy Duckworth because of her policies or something she said. Claiming that she is a coward and that she hates her country is what makes him a chicken **** little ****er.

 

You support dirty donny bonespurs. Some people would say that’s an indication that you hate America.

 

So what makes right wingers, conservatives and Republicans the authority on judging who is American or who is patriotic. What are the American values that makes you American or patriotic?

 

Her military service impacted you.

I don't criticize anyone who serves.

A coward who wasn't willing to serve can't question the patriotism of someone who did.

Please explain, with documentation how her military service specifically impacted me-a man you have never met-nor has she.

Are you suggesting that only military members, current or former, are the only one's justified in their critisism?

 

It's sympathy gone way, way, way off the rails. War wounds do not a leader make. Any veteran of any war prior to the baby-boomers' vietnam knows this. It's a matter of common sense. What democrats try to do is nothing but symbolism for this, that and the other, and its ridiculous.

It's a great big participation award, and voters end up paying for it.

 

If I need to answer that then you truly are lost.

How do you criticize someone's military service, especially if you haven't served.

What law says that the right wing can say who is patriotic and who is not.

Who are you to say who loves America and who doesn't.

 

Carlson called her a coward for declaring she would not appear on his show. It would have been a great opportunity for her to crush Carlson with clear and accurate comments on her position.
Carlson gave her the chance to make her case. She publically refused. Duckworth is another political hack fraud.
