Cringeworthy virtual Democratic convention is a ratings bomb

I can't say this is the least bit surprising - I haven't subjected myself to this torture, either:

Reading the tea leaves, the lack of interest in this year's DNC indicates what we already know - Biden and his campaign aren't generating much excitement and enthusiasm. I suspect this also reflects on the vice presidential bomb he dropped last week - one that was criticized more harshly on the Left than the Right.

All in all, a bad start that doesn't bode well, but I expect the ratings might go up when Biden speaks at the end in what will probably be a pre-recorded address delivered from his underground lair.

 

Yeah, the poor democrats don't have the benefit of the train-wreck-in-chief speaking at their convention, so no one is watching. I'm certainly not. You can bet I'll be watching all the Trump jazz at the RNC's convention, though. Don't want to miss any of the dozens of lies that Trumpers will continue to ignore.

The DNC lacks the Trainwreck Carnival Freak (like Trump) that can drive ratings.

They shot their wad on the first night and every night is going to get progressively worse. Moochelle was the most popular speaker in the whole party. Even some Democrats were wondering why they brought Slick (Bubba) Willie on last night. Hillary is speaking tonight. Hillary is on tonight. It's nothing but a week long hate fest with no substance about actual issues. It's all about "orange man bad" and "systemic racism" brought to us by the party that brought us slavery, Jim Crow laws, segregation and ghettos.

When I heard that Dems were going to spend all week wallowing in WuFlu and calling America racist my first reaction was that their focus and priorities are misplaced again. Obviously, they're playing to their base, but their narrow, negative messaging doesn't give people outside of it a reason to vote for them.

 

I'm guessing that would be older and poorer folks who can't afford the cost of satellite/cable TV, and their viewership is down 42%. I thought that was the most eye-opening statistic.

 

I'm certainly not surprised to see this type of silly attack against it. CNN and MSNBC have allegedly been suffering terrible ratings as well, ever since Trump declared war on them.

Saw a less goofy headline about the DNC's ratings yesterday, though. I think it said, to paraphrase, that TV viewership is down as people opt to watch it online instead.

 

Perhaps the reason nobody is watching is because the NBA playoffs, the NHL playoffs & MLB baseball season are all on at the same time for the first time together during the Summer months in my lifetime, at least.

Let's also not forget that there are a miniscule amount of "undecided" votes this year compared to 2016 where you had the choice of a giant ****** vs a **** sandwich.

This year the majority of voters already know who they will be voting for.

Tried listening to Michelle Obama. I had the distinct impression of feeling like I was sitting in a high chair being spoon fed strained banana's. Later, as I reflected upon it, I began to wonder whether she broadcast from her gazillion dollar sprawling estate in Martha's Vineyard, or her bazillion dollar ocean front mansion in Hawaii. Black people have it so rough anymore.

 

My prediction is that the Rep Convention nearly doubles the viewership of the Dimwhats convention. Seeing as I have never been wrong about any thing ever in my life, I already chocked this up as a win.

It's a safe bet, considering how many Republicans are among the older demographic, and therefore watch a lot more TV as opposed to watching things online. Not to mention that they're a bunch of programmed cultists who get their thoughts spoonfed to them by media personalities on Faux News. It's kind of funny when they then try to accuse progressives, liberals and Democrats of being likewise brainwashed by the rest of the media, as it is another case of psychological projection in their desperate attacks on their fellow citizens who do not share their views.

 

But you do not live in the real world. You live in the la-la land concocted for you by alt-right propagandists and purveyors of disinformation. So, who cares what you want or don't want?
