Cringeworthy virtual Democratic convention is a ratings bomb

This is how the dems will also vote in November....by not showing up.

 

No expects you to since your eyeballs will be glued to the republican convention next week,.

 

They postponed their seasons until a couple weeks ago.

 

So nobody is watching the DNC convention because they have a great message but all will be tuning in to the RNC convention to hear all the lies?

Where did I claim that. The only people making hats and ties your average person can afford don't work in this country. Haute catour make look great on the runway but damn few people can afford 500 dollars for a hat or a grand for a pair of shoes... Not Trump's fault those businesses were run out of the country decades back.

 

I agree that Julia Dreyfus was cringe-worthy. Her "jokes" just fell flat.

Biden's speech, however, was great. Biden was one of my least favorite candidates in the Dem field, and I criticized him heavily in the past. The speech, however, was almost flawless. Maybe a bit too many platitudes at times, but it had one thing that is sorely missing from the current occupant of the WH: Compassion and empathy. Finally, someone acknowledged the grief of the friends and family members of the 175,000 dead, something that Trump seems to be unable to do. Biden's speech was a more Christian speech than anything that Trump could even give, even though he wasn't holding up a bible as a photo op. How any Christian could vote for Trump over Biden is beyond me.

I think they've done a great job at orchestrating and lining up the speakers each night. There almost seemed to be a theme for each. And last night's was all about Christianity, compassion and empathy. I, too, thought he did incredibly well. Trump is going to have to come up with a better label than 'incompetent', or 'sleepy', or 'losing it' when describing Joe. And he's in for a big surprise come debate time.

 

Biden couldn't tell you what day it is, likes China more than the US, since China hired his son.

The movies, TV, comics, video games and other media which appeals to so many of us *IS* dark, *IS* nihilistic...and it's poisoning our view of ourselves as a nation. We have to stop listening to these whining negativity-artists. We cannot and must not afford to think we'll lose, getting back on our feet after COVID.

She was released after serving 27 years of that sentence, subsequently earned a bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science and a master’s degree in English from Mercy College, and now works as an activist, public speaker, and community health advocate for Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s.
