I feel broken, devastated, and exhausted.

Interesting, I haven't lost a minutes sleep over this.

I just figure I did my part, now I'm just back to plugging along like I usually do.

    Just curious

What was difficult about a conservative president?

I tend to lean right but I have never found life difficult with a liberal president, or even noticed the difference with a conservative president.

Maybe a different group people bitching up a storm every 8 years, but I've tuned them out quite easily, I find the whiners and bitchers to be entertainment, no more no less.

Ya mean like Fauci funding Eco Health Alliance and Eco Health Alliance funding Wuhan? That kind of disinformation?

The principle of equal protection under the law demands that people harmed by posts on Twitter should be able to sue the poster and Twitter. It demands that Trump be able to sue for defamation and that Pelosi be prosecuted for insider trading.

Keep in mind that for 8 years Republicans treated Obama supports precisely the same way. If they are now willing to make peace, all of us should be doing that for the health of the country.

Don't worry about it. Republicans will still hold the Senate and prevent Biden from doing very much. And Trump has a shot at running in 2024 if things don't go well for Biden.

    1. Liberals support the freedom of anyone to live wherever they wish, but no one is forcing anything with a gun.
    2. I've never heard of any liberal objecting to the National Anthem, or anyone who sings it.
    3. Liberals are our nation's best protectors of everyone's right to express a difference of opinion. We do feel it's for everyone's benefit to restrict the voices of hate or advocates of violence. That's to protect everyone--not just liberals.
    4. No liberals advocate violence or destruction of property. Liberals are as upset about what happened in those cities as you are.
    5. Liberals don't want to topple statues of Washington or Lincoln, but we do want to relocate public statues of Confederate racist officers to sites that are connected with historic museums or something similar. Those Confederate officers were traitors to the U.S. where they were born.
    6. No one is accusing you of being racist because you're white. Those accused of being racists are speaking racist dialogue or acting in ways that prevent minorities from experiencing equal rights.
    7. Liberals want taxes to serve the needs of everyone equally REGARDLESS of race.
    8. White supremacists ARE deplorable. They believe skin color is a measure of a person's worth. It isn't.
    9. Only a handful of communists in America would ever consider Stalin a hero. Socialists certainly don't. Liberals abhor Stalin. Stalin was just as bad as Hitler.
    10. To liberals, the 1st Amendment is sacred. They honor the 2nd Amendment, but feel gun owners have abused it. Liberals want some additional controls on some gun designs available to the public. Very few liberals want to eliminate the 2nd Amendment. It's unfair & inaccurate to think all liberals are against the 2nd Amendment.
Sorry. Out of time to continue. Your post indicates you have a very negative view on liberals. Actually liberals are the first to try & preserve all our personal rights in America. Liberals want to expand those rights to include ALL of us, regardless of skin color, religious preference, gender or sexual preference. In my mind those are GOOD things.

The term "freedom" has been bastardized into something entirely separate from civil liberties

They're not, but it's a disturbing trend that we ourselves at headed in that direction and that the DNC has not spoken out openly against this either.

It's not going to happen for at least four years. Democrat DINO's and Republican RINO's are the establishment which a plurality of the public knows are a bunch of self-interested crooks and liars. Half the country just voted the enemy of the people back into power for at least the next four years.

    They are the "County-Over" Party.

No unity between the people and our government until we get someone else who will clean up the government.

I have not watched MSM on TV in going on 2 weeks now, and feel much better. Politics and democracy are a sort of illusion. The electoral process is very much a fraud. I've known that for years.

Been years. I cut my cable about the time O'Reilly and FOX parted ways. I think I was paying $277 / mo for internet and cable to get to the level that provided FOXNews. The same package required for CNN and MSNBC. It was easy to cut my cable service since I had no interest in paying for fiction masquerading as news as a condition of subscribing to the once decent network. My internet / wifi through Spectrum now costs $17.99 and I subscribe to KlowdTV for $9.99. The latter gives me One America News. I connected a digital antenna to the cable splitter so my better half can watch fiction in any room in the house. She also likes AWE on Klowd.

I'm still paying the same outrageous prices to AT&Treason, because I do like some TV options. I guess I'm proud of myself, like a junkie who stops using heroin. :D

Yep. I had UVerse. It took a while to get things working right because of nearby radio towers, but eventually I got everything fixed except for the packages. With the kids dragging FOX to a place where they think they are liked by the rest of their pathetic industry, I'm glad I went the streaming route. The children haven't learned that haters got to hate and they will never be liked or even tolerated by the haters. In the meantime, I hope the bulk of the population delivers a message loud and clear so the FOX children can compete for the same fringe audience the rest of the cable networks have fought over as far back as I can remember.

If it makes you feel any better I think the two party system guarantees your team will win again i mean it won't change anything but a few minor adjustments to the tax rate and a change in which corporations get the checks but hey you'll get pandered to and feel like a winner again.

I certainly don't want to be a whiner or bitcher. I felt uncomfortable with conservatives because they tend to regard government as always a negative institution--one to be weakened or disregarded. As a liberal, I acknowledge that government CAN be negative, depending on who runs it. But government is a powerful institution that can ALSO be used to accomplish tremendous good--depending on who we elect to run it. Government as an institution is totally dependent upon us as voters to be thoughtful, sensitive & informed enough to elect candidates of higher caliber. They can create government at its best. Unfortunately, voters don't always measure up to that standard, & certainly failed in 2016.

My personal discomfort with conservatives in the past has been because I recognize government can be a powerful instrument to elevate the lives & livelihood of those surviving on the edge of financial disaster, or afflicted with some painful or deadly disease, or live in inferior housing, or can't afford health insurance, or face other hardships like racism, etc., & conservatives don't see that as a responsibility of government, or even an activity that government should concern itself with. To me, that's a terrible waste of an accessible asset. I've felt when I've lived under conservative political terms of office, those years seem wasted on the social improvements front.
