As videos now prove prove, the barriers were removed, police actively waved protestors in, and those who entered the Capitol were overwhelmingly peaceful. A few crimes occurred, about the same number of arrests as during the 2016 Inauguration demonstrations, yet 35,000 National Guard and siege defenses were not constructed in 2016. This leads to the conclusion that the overreaction of 35,000 soldiers and siege construction was decidedly Authoritarian in nature, not any kind of reasonable response.

"Common people" means not those on the dais, but rather the thousands of people cheering the Obama and Trump Inaugurations that wouldn't have been there for Biden, that everyone knew wouldn't be there for Biden because of a fraudulent election, and so that needed to be rationalized with authoritarian fences and soldiers.

How many arrests at the Trump Inauguration in 2016? 200 or so... and with firebombs, mass destruction amounting to more than a couple of windows, far more direct attacks by protestors on police, yet no one called it an insurrection... it wasn't one. Nor was 1/6.
