False. Protests of Trump's Inauguration in 2016 were far more violent, yet the Trump Inauguration proceeded as legitimate ones always have.

Why do I call it cynical? Because, after watching the inauguration, which was quilted with love, beauty, song, poetry, and all sorts of feel-good things, that this is your reaction, hell, there is no other conclusion other than pure cynicism that I can come up with for your opinion. I was amazed by it, I was thinking this guy must be from another planet, because that is the last thing I saw. Did I see some soldiers? Sure, but just the other day Trump's minions, proud boys ( or whatever they call themselves) laid sieged to the capitol and threatened the life of the vice president, hunted for the speaker, and 5 people were killed and...their threats have continued on social media. So, if you can't, not from any part of your being, find a way to cut the new president some slack on the security imposed, and be completely oblivious to the rest of the event, which progressed more on TV ( owing to covid ) I find that mindboggling.

 

You admit to not reading information others provide to defend their position, yet you proceed to promote your supposition and conjecture on the subject as fact. That is not a rational, fact based discussion, that is willful ignornance

You seem to like to revise what has transpired. Here, you combine two responses....one directly to you and one to another poster concerning you. Let me clarify for the reader:

Obviously, Sandy feels he doesn't have to justify or prove anything he posts beyond a certain point. His opinion, supposition and conjecture (in his mind) is an apt replacement for facts and the logic derived from all the pertaining facts. One can't have a rational debate with such a mindset as aforementioned.

 

Obviously you must live in a part of the world were the pandemic hasn't affected you, otherwise you wouldn't have made such an absurd statement.

 

So to clarify for the readers: Sandy just says whatever he wants and treats it like the gospel truth. To maintain that stance, he REFUSES to read any material that can document FACTS that CONTRADICT Sandy's assertions and beliefs. So in short, any thread or post Sandy creates is essentially not for discussion, but more for the type of 3rd rate propaganda that permeated the Trump administration and his enablers in the media and Congress. Pathetic, but not unexpected.

Tranquil only to those who agree with whatever brand of authoritarianism that they agree with that is in power. They do not mind trampling the rights of others.

For those of us that are not comfortable with any brand of authoritarianism at all, we are uncomfortable with both Biden's and Trump's brand of authoritarianism because of the historically we understand it always leads to tyranny no matter the brand.

I thought you guys were pro-military. Wasn't Trump all about expanding the military. Trump supporters didn't have a problem with federal troops in Portland during the protests.
