I am trying to follow along with the OP's scenario. For it to be correct, Obama would have had to call for "peaceful protests" exactly like Trump did before the riot.

My signature is from the first month of Trump's presidency with ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC all went 90%+ negative against Trump, before anything really happened. It was quite a display of propaganda and so many Leftists just fell right in line.

All of the words that Dems have said were the cause of the riot has been used before by politicians and protest leaders. Even MLK used words like "fight" in his speeches. But he also always advocated for doing it in peaceful ways. He did not want violence.

And there is no reason to think Trump wanted an insurrection beyond partisan hatred. He did after all call for them to peacefully make thier voices heard in a patriotic way.

Additionally if an insurrection actually did occur...then why hasn't any of the people that have been arrested for thier part in the riot been charged with insurrection?

Using this logic, I wouldn't treat Obama any differently than I am treating it under Trump as.

But you won't know for sure that I'm telling the truth. Only thing I can offer up as evidence that I am is that I have defended Obama in the past. And I certainly was no birther because I actually took the time to study the laws that were in effect at the time which proved he was a US citizen. And one didn't need a BC to prove such.
