Are you? What relevance does your question have about the event? None. You are just whipping yourself with nonsense.

I didn’t follow this trail at all. Spent to much time on Rittenhouse. I wall admit from the very first time I saw the video, seems like about a year ago, I thought they were guilty. But I just couldn’t devote more time to another trial.

I voted for Trump, and I think the McMichaels are guilty of murder.

For me, the case has nothing to do with politics.

I believe the evidence does support the charges. Seems we are in rare agreement.

And I do not doubt there was a racial component to this murder. No way those hillbillies would have even stopped for a white guy out jogging, let alone run him down with their truck.

Why do predict a humg jury? The evidence against these knuckle-dragging hillbillies is pretty clear.

I believe the prosecution offered lesser charges, should the jury prefer it.

The closing arguments were televised. THe prosecutor summarized all the known facts. They are no doubt on YouTube now.

Because I didn't hear the prosecutor raise it in her argument, but I didn't watch it from the beginning -- maybe she did but she didn't mention racism at the summary at the end.

The question is, did they have a right to follow and chase Arbery while carrying guns.
If they did, then they should not be guilty of murder.

We have a right to follow people, and carry guns, and do both at the same time. I think there is a distinction between 'follow' and 'chase' (which may be up to a jury in all but the most obvious cases). Chasing someone in my mind is assault, regardless whether the chaser is armed. But these guys did more than that, they attempted to detain Arbery (until police arrived). Thats a citizens arrest, whether they called it that or not. Citizens arrest laws vary by state, but in all states where Im familiar with it (im not familiar with georgia), citizens arrest requires the arrestor to personally witness the arrestee commit a felony, otherwise its not a lawful citizens arrest, and becomes whatever its called when a person tries to unlawfully detain another. As one example, my ex hit her ex with a car because her ex was attempting to use his body as a block to prevent her from leaving in her car. She was not charged with any crime for hitting him and she could've pressed charges against him for unlawfully attempting to detain her (she didn't press charges) because he was the one breaking the law and she was just trying to leave.

If you're "following" someone, what are you supposed to do when they start running fast?

Imagine she was backing up in very slow motion and honking the horn, and the guy was being stubborn and refused to move, even though he should have known exactly what would happen to him. That is a little bit like Arbery dashing at someone holding a gun, wouldn't you agree?

The moment you block their path and tell them you'll kill them if they don't stop, you are no longer just "following" them. I don't know how to use smaller words to explain this. How is it that you aren't capable of understanding such a basic concept?

They didn't just follow him while carrying guns. They did more than that.

I don't think this is an "ordinary" murder, due to the circumstances. If it is a murder, it is more like a fraction of a normal murder.

The law doesn't always have neat categories for that.

Does this have to be a "murder" or "not a murder"? Is there anything in between?

In the courts, yes. Yes it does. I'll repeat, since you evaded: The moment you block their path and tell them you'll kill them if they don't stop, you are no longer just "following" them. Do you understand this?

I'm still not content to lay ALL the blame on the person shooting him.

    Maybe at most partial blame.

Yes, I'm sure you are eager to blame the victim more than the murderer.

He's not a victim if he ran like that, like a football linebacker, trying to ambush - from around the corner of the vehicle - the man that was stalking after him though keeping some distance.

That act was unlikely to have been able to accomplish anything and got him killed.

No different from you pulling a gun a large group of people dressed in police uniforms surrounding you.

I blame him his for his death. It seems like he let his emotions and animal instincts take over and lost it. It was not a rational course of action.

You can't defend yourself against someone stalking you, illegally detaining you, and threatening to kill you? Really? That's the tactic you want to go with?

You realize that the "ambush" happened around the corner of a vehicle USED TO PREVENT HIS RIGHT TO FLEE? Right?

I agree that they are guilty. Not sure about the guy recording though. He literally didn’t participate in the road block or even speak a word or anything. However the two in the truck… yup, definitely committed murder.

It depends. If they are maintaining a distance, and you are fleeing a scene because you do not want to wait for police to arrive.
Not just leaving the scene (which would have been one thing) but trying to run away and evade.

I will agree that being cut off does change things a little bit, but they were trying to slow him down and prevent him from escaping from them keeping an eye on his whereabouts.
He probably knew very well they wanted him to wait until the police showed up, and he wasn't going to have that.

In this situation, "stalking" is a little bit different.
