Georgia County DA Requests Special Grand Jury In Trump Election Steal Probe

Georgia’s Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis requested a special grand jury in her election interference investigation into ex-President Donald Trump on Thursday.

Willis sent the request to the chief judge of Fulton County’s Superior Court, Christopher Brasher, in a letter obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The prosecutor told Brasher that she needed help with her probe from a special grand jury because a “significant number of witnesses and prospective witnesses have refused to cooperate with the investigation absent a subpoena requiring their testimony.”

Notice I said pursuing justice, not "lock her up" as the orange insurrectionist famously said to incite his mob at his orgy of lies......sorry........rallies.

We've had the NY AG list the evidence in her fraud case against Don and the fam, seeking testimony from them. The SC denied the ridiculous claim of exec privilege Don made in order to keep documents hidden from the 1/6 committee (what the hell is wrong with Clarence?). That committee has continued to issue subpoenas, most recently to slimy Rudy and the other "legal" minds behind the attempted coup. And now we have word the Fulton Co investigation is moving forward.

So the wheels of justice are turning. My hope is these cases will result in indictments and guilty verdicts. If for no other reason than to prove to an increasingly cynical public that justice does prevail........even for the rich and powerful.

 

You confuse justice for the hunt for political advantage.

 

One of the more encouraging aspects of the justice being pursued is this time around is The King of Hydroxychloroquine no longer possesses the power to pardon witnesses who could testify against him as he did with Roger Stone.

Which is why this is over a year old, they have no witnesses or even witnesses willing to participate.

During the call he acknowledged Raffensperger had, the night before, announced the recount had been verified. Yet he asked Brad to find exactly how many votes it would take to overturn the result. Trump made numerous batshyte crazy allegations during the call. You should read the transcript some time. Fascinating.

 

He can make all the allegations he wants. He can even have a meltdown and call the guy dirty names.
Until he demands him to illegally submit false votes, its just another leftist claiming to know what they say Trump was thinking.
And they still haven't learned, what you think Trump is thinking, don't mean squat.

After a year of investigations, with no court or DA willing to even take the case, you have to force a significant number of witnesses and prospective witnesses to testify, you have no case. Its cut and dry.

Hate to break it to you, but people have a right to not speak. That's not stonewalling. That's exercising their Rights. Do you have a problem with people exercising their Rights?

 

Your obvious ignorance of judicial procedures is excusable. They can refuse to talk and even to cooperate with the investigation. However, the investigating magistrate has the right (and maybe even the obligation to ask for the witnesses to be subpoened, i.e. to be obliged to come to be interviewed). At that time, they can use the 5th to refuse to talk.

 

Look to the phrasing of what she said. Sounds like she's pissy to me due to that phrasing. Warrants and subpoena's are supposed to be given out based on more than just “significant number of witnesses and prospective witnesses have refused to cooperate with the investigation absent a subpoena requiring their testimony.”

 

Whether the Fulton County DA is pissy or not is not the point; it is up to the judge to decide if a subpoena is issued or not.

 

It is the point if its the basis for wanting a subpoena. Like I said, she needs more than just “significant number of witnesses and prospective witnesses have refused to cooperate with the investigation absent a subpoena requiring their testimony.” to get one.

 

Fyi, witness refusing to "cooperate with an investigation absent a subpoena requiring their testimony" is the most usual reason why a subpoena is issued.

 

Is it still a political advantage if found guilty or does that not matter.
