**** that. If That offer was given to my country I would tell Russia to go **** themselves. It would have maybe been reasonable before 2014. Now I think Ukraine joining NATO is essential to its survival. Ukraine is making Russia look like bitches, and it is driving Putin crazy. Hopefully not crazy enough to use nukes.

Nope. Russia doesn't get to steal Ukrainian territory and use this terroristic violence to force concessions.

    Российский корябль, иди нахуй!

The Ukraine people have been resisting Russia for a century, when they could. When they realised they had voted for a Russian puppet, they threw him out. He went scampering to Moscow, to hide behind Putin's skirts.

The weird thing is that Putin's lies ain't subtle. So why the hell are you buying them?

    SELECTIVE OUTRAGE SYNDROME

    Re:
    Except Israel......Right?

This Post is not directed specifically at you or what you wrote but your comment made me think of other countries that have been able to successfully "...redraw borders using military power" and do so not only with impunity but with overwhelming US military and financial support.

Even the MSM narrative which is brazenly comparing the aggressor, Putin, to Hitler is not only conspicuously mute when IDF flattens residential apartment buildings, schools and hospitals but it reviles those opposing the Israeli land grabs as "terrorists" and "anti Semites".

Briefly put, I find it a little hypocritical to read the same people that are the most enthusiastic cheerleaders of blatant Israeli land grabs suddenly so sympathetic to Ukrainian victims of the same fate.

Can anybody "... redraw borders using military power." or just the Israelis?

Im against redrawing any borders, even the Israeli ones.
The world must stick to the internationally recognized boundaries and enforce this concept.

I going to respectfully disagree. Putin keeps moving the goal and spreading propaganda but the odds against Ukraine's success are devastating.

I think he knows exactly what he is doing and has made a calculated gamble. He has gamed out a lot of scenarios and is very familiar with what the West and NATO citizens will tolerate and how far he can push without dragging the US directly in to the conflict. He knows that the need for his oil, his grain, rare earth minerals, etc. and the current supply chain and inflation issue will affect the world consumer and specifically, the American consumer who does not want to be made 'uncomfortable'. He may even believe that he can help Trump Republicans back in control of Congress in the midterms. I hesitate to underestimate his ability to stay the course vs. the average American politically. The Trump Republican Party has shown itself to be partisan even to the US constitution so short term gains may work in his favor.

I hope he has figured out that there can be no return to the previous situation at this point. We can't go back to cooperating with a Russia that is under his rule. What is happening now calls for drastic and permanent changes within Russia.

I hope I am wrong and I have over-estimated this Kremlin psychopath. The world let him off the hook twice before but this time he is going for the entire country or intends to level it.

What Russia proposed is very ridiculous.
What about Ukraine in EU? EU is not NATO ...
This geopolitical detail aside, Crimea is the undisputed Vladimir's holiday place. No way!
This is why he hope to ends this war before of next summer: he has already booked a room in a hotel in Crimea ...

    Jokes aside.

Russia has decided to do something similar to what Stalin did:
to replace a local population with Russians. Maybe it's time to do the other way round "suggesting" to Russians in Ukraine to go back to the Russian Federation. Why not?

Agree completely. The only option here is Russia's - especially Putin's - defeat in Ukraine. There is no negotiating with him and his regime in good faith.

Mah ... Putin has isolated himself as anti-covid strategy for almost a couple of years.
It's not impossible that this has affected his mind. Isolation can generate insanity.

In my opinion Putin needs a good therapist.

I don’t see the Uks going for Putins demands. Those are some hard nosed, defiant, tough sobs in Ukraine.
They don’t want any part of Russia.

Russia has already guaranteed the territorial integrity of Ukraine, including Crimea in the 1994 Budapest agreement. Russian guarantees of territorial integrity are meaningless.

These have been Putin's demands from the get go. From about 2 years ago.
