    The youngest pregnancy ever was at age 5
    It is uncommon for very young girls to be able to get pregnant but still in the double digits

    This further exemplifies why people that have no idea about the female anatomy shouldn’t be making laws regarding it.

    yes, it's good it's sold OTC now, people should stock up in case some republicans try to outlaw it

    getting pregnant from rape is not a choice the victim makes, they may try to prevent it, but it was never a choice

    Wrong, wrong, wrong....! BY LAW, a 10 year old cannot consent to sex! Period! So, anyone who does have sex with her has done so without legal consent.....and guess what we call that crime...!?

    I asked about the justification for it not about the procedure.

    Why does the extremely rare 1.5% justify all the others? How does killing the innocent baby make the rape go away. 80% of rape victims who do get pregnant do not kill the baby. I think your trying to say rape requires a woman to get an abortion is highly overstated.

    A 10 year old boy can't legally consent either, so what's the legal situation if they have sex? According to a link I posted earlier, it's pretty complicated and depends on the state.

    It is - here it is less about the actual age than age difference because that underpins the degree of control being exerted

    I imagine you're right, although it's possible a girl so young is automatically sent to a child abuse doctor when pregnant.

    Anyone who advocates that a 10 year old girl should be compelled to remain pregnant against her will is every bit as disgusting & disgraceful as someone who suggests a 10 year old girl should be allowed to have sex with adults. it says something about how fanatical some sections of US conservatism have become that people can even suggest that this should happen.

    What happened is that the abortion debate somehow shifted from “keep babies alive” to “women are sluts and are to be blamed for pregnancy”

    if you want verification of that count how many “she should have kept her legs crossed” posts come from the so called “Pro-lifers”. The ignorance in relation to contraception is astounding

    Ignorance is understandable when you literally do not care. When you have reduced pregnant females to incubators whose sole purpose is to house the sainted foetus all those silly details about anatomy or contraception don't matter. As long as the foetus survives the incubator is disposable.

    If that incubator happens to be a 10 year old barely able to comprehend the notion of pregnancy and in danger of serious health consequences that is just her bad luck. Only foetuses matter. Fanaticism 101.

    Actually, the developmental stages of a pregnancy are not determined through a pregnancy test. I don't know where you got that idea, but it's actually determined through examination from a physician based on the patient's menstrual cycle. The doctor can both determine when fertilization occurred, as well what day the patient should be due to give birth.

    ..but if it weren't possible for doctors to make that determination, then that only calls into question how laws setting the legal limit at 6 weeks could even be implemented. Also, Ohio law prohibits abortions on the first day of seeing a doctor, you're actually required to make separate doctor's appointments on separate days in order to schedule an abortion
