Can someone point out what letter we're on. I've heard so many posted since I last contributed that I got confused. :)

Sure thing Overit; I picked up the practice I'd seen from others, of boldfacing the initial letter, of the the title of any song, that is part of our alphabetical sound-off. So, I put in the Speedways' song, "Kisses are history (for " K"), and the vocal prodigy, Jacki Evacho's singing of an Asian- flavored song called, "Lovers," for "L."

    We are now at "M."

Thanks. I'm too tired to present one tonight. I'll leave it to you and pick up from there tomorrow. Your contributions are appreciated.

In case you're getting on one of your rolls again, Turtledude, in which you post songs, four at a time, I am going to jump ahead, just so I won't have to jump backwards, to the letter "T," for one I've wanted to post from the beginning. I just hadn't found the appropriate opportunity to use it for that letter (which is the one I probably have more songs for, than any other). However, since you included a couple of Zep songs, in your last bundle, this is my all time favorite, by Led Zeppelin:

    Ten Years Gone

Because of the reputation for guitar skills, of Jimmy Page, currently being featured in our thread, I'm going to smuggle one more in, under "T." It is actually the short performances of four talented guitarists, only two of whose songs-- The Transcendent Mountain; and The Future-- begin with "T." (Had the opportunity not arisen until "F," I would have claimed The Future as one for that letter, along with For My Father). It is not easy to say which of these is most talented, of the group, because of their different playing styles, but all their music, is enjoyable.

Luca Stricagnoli (The Future) actually plays his guitar like it was something in between a dulcimer/zither, and a slide guitar. Antoine Dufour, playing The Transcendent Mountain, is my favorite to watch. I would say, though, that Mike Dawes, who does Boogie Slam, seems the most talented-- and he's really got the fingers for it! He does, however, use electronic pedals, for any who may want to factor that into coming to their own opinions (and Luca's acoustic guitar, is also electrically amplified).

Andy McKee, who starts things off, is certainly the least ostentatious of the players, but his song is actually my favorite.

    For My Father-- Andy McKee

    Boogie Slam-- Mike Dawes

In that last one, I only don't care for his choice, near the end, to record the squeaky scratch of his fingers on the strings, and put it on a loop.

    The Future-- Luca Stricagnoli

    The Transcendent Mountain-- Antoine Dufour

Not at all. I should apologize; I guess you didn't read my first post for "T"-- Zeppelin's Ten Years Gone. Turtledude had just posted 4 letters, it seemed, in one shot, which brought us through "P." In case he was getting on one of his rolls, I didn't want to miss, once again, the chance to post my favorite Zep song-- especially as he had just posted a couple of other tunes from the group, so it seemed the perfect time. It was one of these Turtle-rolls-- isn't that the name of a type of sushi?-- that had forced me to jump backwards, recently (which of course could be confusing). So I said that I would be jumping ahead, instead, in case the T.dude had Q, R, S, and T, all loaded up. Turns out, he didn't. So we could still use a fill for Q & R.

Hey, I'll do my part-- I call "R!"

I thought I'd already posted this one, but a search came up empty, and I figured it should fit, w/ Michael Jackson.

    Ride like the wind

(After fetching this song, just now, from You Tube, I found, way deep in my phone's clipboard, I already had it stored, but hadn't seen it, at first. That's why I prefer to wait until the letter is nearly upon us.)

Regardless, as Turtle has already posted for "U," I suggest we just blow off "Q," this time-- onward to V!

Edit: My turn to say "Oops." We're already up to "Z," so ready to start back again, on "A."

Jumping to "B," and kind of surprised that we're no t already on "J." Anyway, I'm leaving "A," for you, Turtledude, or whoever wants it.

Trivia fact: The singer of this song, Edie Brickell, shortly after this song was a modest commercial success, married Paul Simon.

And that allows me to bookend my earlier post, of guitar players (at the letter "T").

    Darmstadtium-- Richard Barrett

Damn, son! Mad skills, there! And style (as they used to say) for days. Make sure to watch till the end, to get to see those tarantula hands, doing their thing. He jams, using a lot of bar chords, but not as exclusively as the guitarist at the bottom of this entry.

Song For A King-- Daniel Padim

Very nice video, here; and impressive playing. This song is supposedly a cover-- does anyone know anything about the original?

Funkin' At The Junction-- Preston Reed

Grooves, as well. And Reed is definitely good.

Interesting - Black Sabbath has a song by that name, as well.
