The police chief already heavily hinted at it when asked if it was a politically motivated attack. He said that he would have more to say on that shortly, that it was indeed a targeted attack and not a random act of violence, and that their was a political manifesto written by the trans mass murderer along with detailed plans about two separate targets which the trans mass killer wanted to carry out. One of those targets though the trans mass killer deemed "to hardened".

Which political targets are "to hardened" you might wonder? Well, TRAs, which the trans mass killer was one of, in Tennessee have recently been extremely outspoken about their desire to murder state level politicians at the state legislature for daring to outlaw minors at adult sex shows and for banning chemical castration and mutilation of minors who were below the age of consent. We shall see for sure when the, no doubt sick, manifesto of this trans mass murderer is released.

I've been screaming about this for years. Medical info is subject to HIPAA and very restrictive, so it's unlikely that any fibs about that would be picked up, but otherwise prohibited persons attempt to, I don't know, hope and pray they'll get away with it? ALL THE TIME!!! And it's a SLAM-DUNK FELONY, for those Officers and DAs looking to up their stats.

PLUS, I'd bet you money I don't even own that most people who get turned down for a weapon end up getting one anyway, likely through straw purchases by a friend or relative that is either ignorant of the law, or knows but does not care.

For those cases where a mistake was made (as one hypothetical example, I almost got arrested once for an outstanding warrant for someone with my name, until I got a glimpse of the officers computer screen and pointed out that he was looking for a black male and I'm pasty white), those can be checked and no harm, no foul. But I bet more often than not there is no mistake, unless you're named John Smith or something incredibly common.

PS... News conference on right now, building was target, not an individual, and several others were listed. Asked about the manifesto, I got a bit distracted and didn't hear the whole response, but it didn't sound very informational from what I did.

Yes, the victims were innocent kids + teachers. As for them wanting to get out of the South, - that is not surprising at all.

 

That is nothing but an urban myth. I have put countless rounds downrange, and I can count the number that didn't make a perfectly round hole on one hand and have fingers left over. It's not impossible, as I don't know what I don't know, but I am personally unaware of any type of round (ref where I was talking about FMJ vs. JHP, and others I didn't mention) designed to do that, nor can I even think of how you might do that? Play with the aerodynamics maybe, but like I said... I've never heard of such a beast, and I don't think your average mass shooter knows more than I do.

PS... She was 28 years old, still living with mom and dad, under a doctor's care for unknown (or unstated) mental issues, and her mom THOUGHT she sold the one and only gun that mom knew about.

Your little 'gotcha' video said AR-15 ammo causes a lot more damage than a handgun. No duh. It's a rifle, and referring back to the math I posted earlier, F=ma, where F is force, m is mass, and a is accelleration. Rifles fire at ~3,000 fps, pistols at ~1,000 fps, so rifles, ALL rifles, are going to be 3x more powerful at the same mass projectile than a handgun will be.

Simple mathematics, and is not unique to AR-15s or .223 ammunition. It applies to every long gun that exists, with the exception of specialty guns, for example a .300 BLK that shoots sub-sonic ammo, more like a pistol.

Look, we already have such exemptions for medical personnel if the individual is actively abusing others, either physically or sexually. For medical personnel they actually are mandated to report such instances, HIPAA or not; Because others are directly being harmed by such individuals. Why is this different, just because they are showing clear warning signs and simply not done it yet?

Even clergy who have their own oaths that protect privacy fall under mandatory reporters in such cases.

So HIPAA should not apply in cases like this.

Once again, that was only in the first 20,000 or so in the early 1960s, when they had a 1 in 14 twist. That was quickly corrected, and they have not been made that way in 60 years. I just got a good look at the pics of the guns she had, and the one she was using. It looks to me like it was probably (but not definitely) a 9mm rifle, that had the same basic exterior cosmetics as your standard .223 AR-15 and the multitude of clones. The other one she carried (but did not use, at least in the video that has been released so far) might have been a .223, but even that is not definitely.
