Since we all agree children should not be allowed to do porn (I hope to god that's the case, but some of you amaze me everyday), and other restrictions like no scheduling conflicts with school, hour limits, etc. Now the only question is how much restrictions, I would lean toward the more restrictive for the long term good of the kids.

So you are successfully able to segue from and equate underage child porn to children working in their schools for a few hours a week? Amazing how the liberal mind works.

Horrible, just horrible. We can't have kids learning how to work at such a young age. That might teach them responsibility and discipline. It would make it just too (*)(*)(*)(*)ed hard for all of our liberal teachers and professors to brainwash them if they have some real world experience....

Good we agree there should be restrictions on child labor.

    Open mouth, insert foot.

Newts aren't reptiles, snake. They're amphibians.

Again they can learn those things and more from but not limited to: football, baseball, basketball, hockey and other sports teams, martial arts, yoga, or dance lessons, band, music lessons, art, or chess club, volunteering, tutoring, hell even hanging with the friends can be better life experience than a crappy job.

Nice deflection. It's the *******s and SEIU that wants to subjugate children for their own selfish needs. Right wingers aren't pushing school dinners and weekend meals onto the public.

Someone makes a suggestion that child labor laws could be reworked making kids more responsible and disciplined, while garnering them some cash and that scares the (*)(*)(*)(*) out of *******s.

No.....developing a work ethic, learning how to follow directions, and learning responsibility from a job is not the same as sports or any other activity IMO. It is unique.

You earn your money. You didn't have to beg mom or dad for it. You get to buy stuff or save your money guilt free. It is yours. You earned it. For a kid whose family is not well off, earning ones own money is important for stuff the folks can't afford.

I worked in jr. high and high school and also managed to take time off when my sport was out of season. Many did. I remember doing odd jobs and saving to buy my track shoes. I was grateful for all jobs as a kid, even the crappy ones.

What a crock of (*)(*)(*)(*). It takes money, money and money to become elected.

And money doesn't matter one iota if you have a compliant media who won't vet you like everyone else so you always look squeaky clean.

I will agree with the earning money part, but I acknowledged that in an earlier post. I would contend that martial arts and volunteering offer the same learning experience... follow direction, responsibility etc as most jobs a teen can get.

I agree. Margot seems all for extra-curricular activities like band, sports and yearbook staff, but somehow thinks it wrong if a kid wants to work.

I know quite a few kids, who during high school either had no plans to go to college, no aptitude for it or no money and wanted to start learning a trade so they could be marketable as well as afford to live on their own.

Half the kids in college currently are just punching a 4 year ticket and avoiding taking on the responsibility of adulthood.

Nothing. Child labor laws, much like unions are Democrat linchpins to the past. There was a time and place for them, but they are now archaic manifestations of law.

And when I worked at the drug store after school I learned how to balance a cash register, how to log in inventory, how to place orders for inventory and supplies, how to sell and provide customer service, how to be a good employee.

All some of the most valuable lessons in life I ever learned which serve me to this day.

My kids worked in the Summers.. During the school year they did some babysitting or cleaned gutters and raked leaves for neighbors.

My husband and I wanted them to concentrate on their studies ....

What part of the child labor laws would you change?

Did he say they should work without restrictions? Of course he didn't, it is just another of your lies.

    He focused on poor children...

And it is obvious the pretension of the right. Go backwards to XIX century. Have slave workforce... No, it is enough.

And the most important. If children must work and study, when the (*)(*)(*)(*) they have time for themselves? To be children.

LOL How so? Again, lots of feigned umbrage and emotional hyperbole......little fact.

More like go back as recent as the 1970's or '80's.

Not every youngster has a mommy willing or able to buy everything her little snowflake demands.

This is funny coming from a leftist who wants them dependent on the Govt to lock down their votes, but couldn't care less about them otherwise.

Do you know any conservatives who have been repeatedly downsized and who are currently unemployed or under employed?

Do you know any conservatives who have taken a bath in the housing market or are upside down on their mortgages?
