Sorry guys but the right to bear arms is outdated. Things were different at that time and now gun ownership causes nothing but trouble.

There is no law preventing the importation of the M-1 Garand.

But there is a law that allows Der Furher to prevent the importation of the rifle.

Which is what he has done.

Did Obama prohibit the importation of these rifles by legal means? Is he prohibiting the use and distribution of these rifles? The title doesn't say that ALL M1s have been banned, it says that Obama signed a ban that prevents people from owning the S. Korean M1s in question.

Hell, you even used that exact phraseology in the last sentence of your post..."or the ban is still in place..." It's funny because you started your post with "there is no ban" and ended it by referring to the ban as...a ban.

Seems very clear to me that a ban is a ban, even if it's done quietly with little to no information from the government doing the banning. Odd that people try to argue otherwise.

I'll say it again, an assault rifle is a selective fire weapon that fires an intermediate cartridge. Has nothing to do with pistol grips or full auto fire.

 

The Bf109 bled speed pretty quick in a turn fight.

 

The Garand M1 is an EXCELLENT semi-automatic .30-06 rifle that is great for hunting, target, and other uses as well.

Properly set up, it is an outstanding rifle.

a) Obama didn't sign anything regarding this.
b) He didn't sign a ban on owning M-1's.
c) There is no ban on American's from owning the M-1's in question.

There actually is not a single accurate thing in the entire sentence.

If you wanted it to be as accusatory as possible, and still actually be accurate, you might say "Obama administration prohibits importation of WW2 era M-1's from Korea." But accuracy isn't quite as inflammatory is it?
