Uh, yeah because there's such a shortage of guns in America that you really need some ancient, obsolete antique to guard you against liberals...

Come on you free market, ********* gun lovin' types.

These weapons were paid for by US taxpayers and loaned to the ROK Army in the hope they'd help us drive the NKPA and the Chicoms out of their country, which they did a lousy job of, incidentally. As such, the ROKs should return our property to the US government, for sale by same, if it so chooses. And not use the proceeds to defray their defense costs so they have surplus won to contribute even more to the demise of the US middle class.

Think about it, gun nuts! One million rifles@$500 = $ half a billion!

Or in your lust for one of these weapons, are you just being charitable to the ROKs and meanwhile confident we still have enough credit from the Chinese ATM to pay for our current military and even enough more to start another worse than useless war with Iran?

If so, you're saying we should let the ROKs, who paid $0 for these weapons, enjoy this windfall. Yet another gift to them from a war that killed your fathers and grandfathers to ensure them the freedom to sell us back weapons we purchased for them.

So be a little more patriotic gunnys, and stop selfishly slobbering over the prospect of paying $500+ for a weapon your dead ancestors already paid for.

We'll wait on a link, or a citation, or anything really, that supports your assertion that S. Korea does not own the rifles in question. Otherwise, your little hissy-fit will have been for naught. Thanks.

Actually, it is usually categorized a battle rifle, not an assault rifle.

The Brits didn't think we had too many M-1's in 1942.

Where are working M-1 Garands only $100-$200? I need to go there and buy a few. ($700+ is a more accurate price)

How many links do you want? If you stir yourself, you'll have a feast.

Meanwhile, if they were returned by the ROK's to their rightful owner, namely the US taxpayer, I'd have no problem with them being sold.

I like how you say that as if you have already provided a ton of links when in reality you haven't given a single one. Just one link will suffice. You keep repeating yourself so it should be a piece of cake for you to produce a link that substantiates your varied claims so that we are all on the same page.
