Really? And there was I thinking it was the Saudis who attacked you 'first' on 9/11. But, hey, a Muslim is a Muslim, right, and all of them are fair game-even in the wrong country. Could never accuse Americans of being very bright.

I haven't looked at the figures but i'd have to say it was the royalty and the catholic church imposing it on the comman man. I mean as opposed to the crusades. (And why would you care about jews being decimated anyway?) Catholic on catholic and catholic heretic during inquisitions. Spain was REALLY bloody. So your problem with that is.......?

The main thing is it began to be questioned and eventually stopped long ago once, oh shoot, get ready for this....The bible was printed for everyone to read. The Bible is the great textbook of human freedom. And hellish atheistic anger is going to rain down on me for that one. but. so be it.

The torturing and murdering may have stopped, but the Inquisition continues to this day-sanctioned by the Vatican. Read on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Congregation_for_the_Doctrine_of_the_Faith

People who go in for the Bible have attacked at least five Muslim countries quite recently, whereas Muslims have attacked no 'christian' ones. You think they haven't noticed, perhaps?

Well actually the best way to quickly eliminate the "bad guys" is to do something that will draw them out into a large crowd and then wipe them all out at once. Repeat as necessary.

The whole thing is stupid since we are prepared to negotiate with the Taliban. Since that's the case there's no reason to stay another hour. Leave now, Target the country with nukes and the next time it causes problems wipe it out completely.

But...but...but... !!! That can't be true! :bounce: Amazing that the facts have been there all along but the MSM simply ignores them.

    Nice deflection. :fart:

    Good post.

I am of no religion, but I would have to disagree with this assertion. Yes, Christians were not innocent during the crusades or the inquisition, but it still can't touch that of Islam, especially if you count modern day times where they are blowing up 50-60 people a pop with suicide vests.

Does anyone else find it odd that it is against their religion to write in the Koran, yet that is exactly what the prisoners were doing and nobody rioted about that? Hypocrites much...

And with that said, what IS the proper way to dispose of a koran? These people will riot and kill at the drop of a hat.

    This 'debate' is pointless.

It is obvious if intentionally provoke people by destroying things they hold dear, they will react.

Seems more about racism and bigorty to then blame them after the event.

Well, there's more to this story. The korans were written upon by jihadists to send messages. I think these people were in custody. It's forbidden to write on the koran. Plus, they were passing messages that were plans/plots. The approved way of "retiring" defaced korans, is by burning.

Obviously it was seen and misunderstood as an act of disrespect.
I wouldn't riot or try to kill people over the burning of bibles or the American flag. Would you?
    These people are very violent.

I just noticed my spell check says to capitalize koran, but not bible....screw that.

I wonder if the protest are really about the burning or are incidences like these just tipping points. Afghanistan people tired of being occupied, tired of their failed government, tired of war etc.

Exactly. The gloves would be off and there would free licence to do anything to have the aggressors removed.

Here we have a situation where the US has invaded Afganistan, their troops have burned copies of a book, which the locals believe to be the exact word of god. They themselves treat the book both pysically and philosophically with reverence.

Now, a bunch of people back home complain about the blow back of actions.

Furthermore, the same people are calling for Manning to be imprisoned for life, or killed by the state. And they are ignoring the fact that the koran buring is magnitudes larger in terms of security for their presence in Afganistan.

    It's both pathetic and predictable.

It's not about the book, I personally couldn't care less about it. It's about the actions of individuals and the blow back which was always inevitable.

The guys who burned this book have placed your troops in extreme danger. Furthermore, they might also have placed the lives of normal people, going about their business all over the world in danger.

    That's right.

Offend Muslims, and endanger the entire population of the planet.

The Religion of Peace, indeed.

They were Saudi's... But the US is the friend of Saudi, so a scapegoat had to be found.

So the problem isn't that crazy muslims are killing human beings because of a few burned korans, it's that we burned korans. That's just stupid. Muslims either need to get over the need to satisfy their bloodlust at every opportunity or they need to be forcibly converted to another religion. The world has no place for barbarism, and the fact that American liberals are so quick to blame Americans for pissing off Muslims shows how bad things are here. How about a few words against rioting burning and looting before blaming americans for burning books?

Common sense says that if you have troops in a war zone, you do the least posible that will endanger their lives. If you thnk other than this, go for it, neither you nor I are over there to reap the rewards of these dumb arses.
