Oh no... we didn't think we COULD do it back then! It took getting Obamacare crammed down our throats to teach us how to get things we want.

Just wait... you're gonna love the next Republican administration. ;)

Link please or we will assume your wild speculation is a LIE.

So when there is a government rebate for more fuel efficient cars or weatherizing your home that means you have carte blanche to rip off doctors. Got it. Republican desperation is just sad.

Those costs incurred by her are born by the rest of us. You don't skip out of medical bills in a vacuum. Someone has to cover the cost for the nurses, janitors, CT machines, medications, etc.

I see you're still counting acres instead of voters, eh?

By the way, a large number of those acres you are showing as red are actually state and federal-owned acres. Not many voters there, by golly.

How in the hell could you tell anyone how to be a responsible adult. Responsible adults do the one thing you can't accept. They make decisions and live with them. You're the one I can't believe.

I don't call skipping out on your medical bills and expecting the rest of us to pick up the tab because you want to buy a new care "making decisions and living with them." Sounds to me like a right wing free loader. It's amazing how you guys want to burn divorced single mothers that are struggling at the stake, but you give this guy that wants a shiny new car a free pass.

    Disgusting.

I suppose if this is your only criteria in examining the legislation, then its a win.

For people like me who see the cost as a less important fact than the quality of care, its a lose.

I also look at it from a quality of care point of view. You just made a comment about cost and I addressed that aspect of the law. Healthcare in America is an exceedingly complicated topic. I cannot address every facet of it in one post. If there is something else that you wish to know my thoughts on just ask. Silence in one post out of hundreds does not mean I don't care about it.

The bottom line as far as THIS thread is these idiots are fighting Obama and personal responsibility tooth and nail while declaring bankruptcy and skipping out on medical bills. They should buy insurance instead of new shiny cars.

I have no obligation to anyone on the issue of health care. It's not part of the Social Contract. No where in the Constitution is there any basis for social justice.

That may be true but if you force private practice physicians to see patients then you should also be able to force those same patients to pay for health insurance or at least put up a multithousand dollar bond BEFORE they go to ERs.

Is this going to be the typical "you have to pay for auto insurance" red herring?

It's part of the cost of having insurance. It's part of the cost of getting a loan. Lots of things have costs built in to cover risk. If you don't want to pay for risk, don't buy anything except basic food and shelter. That's certainly your right.

Shouldn't that be the right of the company or person who's money is being gambled with to decide? It's not your money that he gambled with, so it's not your place to intervene, as much as you want to do so.

That's just relying on violence to get your way.

Understand this! We are fed up with right wingers strolling into ERs for free care and then stiffing society for the bill while they go out and buy new cars. What is so hard to understand about that? Be responsible!

Oh like our Trees and Rocks aren't better than the (*)(*)(*)(*)ing (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up concrete and steel jungle you call home? City living is pathetic and shallow compared to the deep, meaningful lives we live out here in tree and rock land.

Yeah, the judge should deny the bankruptcy and force irresponsible Republicans to pay for their debts, the same as for Democrats.

Bankruptcy should carry a 90 day stint in County Jail.

Mary Brown, one of the original participants in the lawsuit at the court, shut down her Florida auto repair shop and filed for bankruptcy in September, listing about $4,700 of unpaid medical bills among $60,000 of unsecured debts.

Obviously her business was failing and medical bills were 7.8% of her debt and the bills weren't necessarily hers. Might have signed responsibility for someone else's medical bills. but no matter. Business fails, no source of income, declares bankruptcy. As obama would say in a hoodie, BFD!

It has nothing to do with suing the govt for unconstitutional overreaching.

Had all parties had insurance the medical bills would have been a nonissue. Also the one woman was only one of several people with bankruptcies and unpaid medical bills.

It was liberal "compassion" that created the laws that allowed them to get treatment. I say let them lay in the street and die and scoop up their bodies from the gutter before they grow to putrid.

I don't care about social consequences of freedom. As far as I'm concerned economic freedom for the individual trumps economic security for the collective.

Private doctors being called to emergency rooms?

Do you mean the government is sending doctors notices ordering them to donate their time in emergency rooms?

That would be insane if it were true but it's not.

You don't believe in bankruptcy laws?

The reason we have them was to replace debtors prisons.

    Is that what libs want?

Can you show me evidence that only "right wingers" go to ERs for healthcare and then are unable or unwilling to pay? Or is it only the right wing deadbeats that you're "fed up with" and it's ok for the left leaning deadbeats?

So you are against bankruptcy laws. Does that include bankruptcy laws applied like obama did? Where the auto companies RIGHTFUL CREDITORS got screwed and the UAW was given the company because they back obama? First obama GIVES GM and Chrysler billions because, "The American auto industry is NOT going to go bankrupt!" And then they went bankrupt anyway and instead of allowing the bankruptcy proceedings to progress normally where CERTAINLY both GM and Chrysler would have been assumed by other companies. The govt steps in, screws the creditors and gives the companies away to the UAW and the UAW and the Italians. After we, the taxpayer, bought $50 billion of worthless stock that was not even being traded. That's the 'left' kind of bankruptcy?

Asking someone not to abuse bankruptcy laws does not mean you are against bankruptcy laws.

The government requires you to obey the speed limit. Do you get a notice in the mail every day from the government before your morning commute asking you to go the speed limit?
