Obama has been around socialism his whole life, starting with his father.

He befriended radicals like Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn. He appointed socialists like Van Jones to high positions in his Administration. He went to a black liberation theology church for 2 decades, which is a movement grounded in Marxism. He has talked about "spreading the wealth" since before he became President.

Yet his supporters still maintain he isn't a socialist.

 

Because he hasn't acted as one? Perhaps a classic case of when one must act pragmatically and not ideologically.

The problem is I doubt any of this stuff will be used on the general election campaign... Because Romney is a little socialist himself.

 

Most of us are a little socialist. Very few want to cut the elderly loose, or cut off food stamps. Romney is a far cry from Obama....which is what it sounds like you are implying.

What's the problem? I would cut off food stamps.

They are a fraud.

Let the truly needy go to private charity food bands or soup kitchens.

But no free food for lazy people at taxpayer expense.

 

May I inject some obvious fact here?

First, the thread title say Democrat. the alleged flyer says democratic. Two different things. One is a person, the other is a political system.

Second, he did not "headline" the event. He was third on the list.

third, it appears it was a discussion on an idea, economic insecurity. At what point in our society did thinking and talking become something that is to be ridiculed, mocked, and scorned?
